Mobile Plastic Repair Incorporated

Our containers are currently being welded or patched by another vendor. How can we tell a bad weld?

If the welding rod can be pulled off by hand or with a pair of pliers or can be dug out with a screwdriver it is a poor weld, which most often leads to failure of the repair and a place to promote bacterial growth. Additional signs of poor welds are visible lines between container and weld material and bubbles and foreign materials in the weld. A durable, high quality weld such as MPR's is smooth and flush with the surrounding surface area, has no bubbles, pores or visible lines between weld and container and will out last a patch many times over.

Does vendor equipment, knowledge and experience really make a difference to me (the customer)? Why shouldn't we try to do it ourselves (repairs)?

It should, because use of portable welders and cheap welding guns deliver low-quality welds that result in radical quality differences to you, shortening the useable life of your property and forcing companies to pay for repairs repeatedly. It’s just not worth the hassle and expense - when MPR can make your job easier and help your facility reduce maintenance and equipment costs. Compare the cost of losing or spilling the contents a poorly repaired container versus the small investment of having it properly repaired the first time. There are several business advantages our customers have received by putting our expertise to work for them – no training expenses, no learning curve, no additional custom equipment to track down, purchase and have designed, no multiple supplier searches, no trial and error learning, no explanations to plant management that things didn’t work as planned. Statistically in-plant programs do not yield best results in either time management, or financially. In short, no hassle and your plant personnel can focus on what they do best – operating your facility. One supplier and multiple service solutions – the MPR/OCRS difference.
