Rowing is an sport in which one or more persons do a  light boat to advance. In this sport, each person uses his or her own force on the oars and push the water for moving the boat. The oarsperson is sitting with one's back to the direction of the movement. The sit can move along two rails, this serves for the legs and arms movility

and this help to do the boat advance easier.

 

This sport can be practiced to a hobby and competition

Rowing is the complete exercise and the best sport activity for improving the human quality of life. You can choose run, walk, ciclism or swimming, but no one of these and other sports is so complete like rowing, why?.

 

Well, there are a lot of reasons, one of them is that rowing practice uses a large variety of muscles: the legs for the major force of row, but the superior part of the body do the rest. You row with legs, arms, back, abdomen and buttocks. Moreover, rowing is one of the few aerobic sports that do not damage your back.

 

When you row, you can give to your body, aerobic condition, flexibility and fortitude, with impact free soft and ritmic movements.

 

Also, Rowing is an excelent calories burning and more effective with the same effort than other sports.

Rowing is a long life sport, moreover, a sport for all your life. Thus, you can see the grandfather, the father and the son rowing together, and maybe the next generation with the baby on the boat!

 

 You can say, all right, but I can't swim. It does not matter! it is not necessary, you can practice indoor rowing too, in a rowing machine, the ergometer with the same advantages of the other rowing.

 

Moreover, you can choose the practice level, for competition or only for hobby. You can row only for your health, or you can row for national or international competitions.

 

 

 

Just probe it and enjoy it. Rowing can do many good things for you...

The rowing boats generally have 1, 2, 4 or 8 oarspersons. Boats with different number of oarspersons are very strange, but there may be competitions with boats for 24 oarspersons.

The classification considering the number of oarspersons, the number of oars and if has or not a cox is the following:

 

Skiff. (1x)

(single scull)

One person with two oars.

Double scull (2x)

Two persons with two oars each one.

Quadruple (4x)

Four persons with two oars each one.

Two oars

Two persons with one oar each one.

Four oars without cox (4-)

Four persons with one oar each one.
