A Definition of Partial Free-Form Role-playing

For all intents and purposes of this site, the term "Partial Free-Form Role-play" simply means that we do utilize dice in combat but its not a must.  You direct the movements of your characters, not us. This, however, does not give you free reign to disrespect the setting that has been established by the Creators of this site. Nor does it give you permission to throw together an All-Powerful sheeted character that is undefeatable which is why we became sheeted and each new character needs approval.

The Setting of Alexandria by Night and the north of Egypt takes precedence over all else and should be respected in the same light as if it were a Character. 

Good sportsmanship is always key to being a Good Player.  

Always differentiate between In-Character (IC) and Out-of-Character (OOC) Just because a Character is ill-tempered or aggravating does not necessarily apply to the Player behind that character. So never take offense to anything said IC to heart, because what is said IC stays IC and vise versa.

New Patrons

Welcome newcomers to the game and help them out if they appear to be having difficulties. We were all new to this type of game at one point in time or another, and it never hurts to extend some common courtesy to a new player.

Nickname (Character Name) Registration 

If you want to have a Character Name strictly for your own use in the chatroom, please register it. Otherwise nicks are on a first come, first serve basis. If you arrive to DarkMyst for the first time using a pre-established nickname, then the person who registered that nick first has priority. You will be notified by nickserv that this Nick belongs to someone else and asked to change it or log in with your password.

All characters new to the Haven (including long-time players)
 must be submitted in sheet form for op approval.

To do this, get in touch with an op and explain that you wish to submit a character for approval. Make sure that you give them all pertinent information about the submitted character (race, clan, generation, abilities of note, powers and weaknesses) via sheet. Sheets can be optained by the Operators and helpers of the Channel. The Op might ask for modifications to be made, they must be obeyed and the character must be modified as required.

Please Note: These are the prescribed repercussions for these Rules. Any and all continual infractions upon them can or will result in the permanent dismissal of the offending Player from all aspects of this website and channel.
