| ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I Hate DallasStars lose Cup on overtime goal. How ironic...June 29, 2000- By Phil Austin I was the happiest guy in the world seeing the Stars lose to the Devils in the Cup Finals. I'm not that big on New Jersey, but when it came down to picking who I wanted to see lose more, Dallas took the biscuit. I'm an Oiler fan first; a Stars-hater second. What was the most beautiful thing about NJ's win, was that it came on overtime. While is was great to see the Stars taste some of their own medicine, the comparison between Buffalo's ripoff last year and the Stars loss this year is comes to Buckley's versus Children's Cherry Nyquil. To be frank, what I was hoping for was the Stars to lose in OT on some controversial goal. Maybe have Lemieux run over Belfour in OT, and have Holik throw it into the empty net. That would bring out the hypocrisy, wouldn't it. Stars fans would have gone ballistic, crying foul. They would have made their own site BelfourwasRunOverDangNabbitBubba.com to rival a Sabres fan's creating NoGoal.com. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers; I just wanted them to lose, period. I'm still smiling after hearing that the former Oiler, Jason Arnott, put them away. GO OILERS, DIE STARS! |
