We vary from a single person (me) to a group of usually four or five. We all have the driving curiosity to explore these hidden places and the determination to enter building and tunnels. Myself (OldBoy), and Honestrabbit are the photographers of the group. Documentation is the aim my trips but I'm constantly looking for the most beautiful and glossy shots rather than to maintain it's history.

We each have our obsessions within the group. Myself, I have an obsession with photographing toilets, others include extraneous turd (poo where it shouldn't be) and keys. I will be posting a section for the obsessions at some point in the future.

We will do our best not to be found or mentioned, more to move through our buildings taking photos, exploring what's left, examining what's happened and leave with a sense of accomplishment but often sadness as it's usually the case that these places end up being torn down. Nevertheless, that is why we do it.

Our Equipment

We're not the most well prepared explorers but we do have a few things which we always take. Cameras are a must - OldBoy uses a Sony Alpha100 but has used a Sony P200 and all photos on this site are taken with either of those two. We always carry torches, usually 3 or 4 at a time. A tripod is often around, as a lot of locations are extremely dark and this alleviates camera shake. Food and drink as you never know how long you'll be gone. Also, a little known fact is food can often be used to bribe/calm down angry tramps (not that its happened yet - but we expect it one day). Full clothing as well. By this, I mean something you can cover your whole body with as its good for cobweby places! That's about it really, occasionally some money to grab a McD's but that's all we tend to take.

If you're cool, and think we're cool, why not be super cool and put this banner on your website so that people will see how cool you are because they'll think you know us...now how cool is that?! Just link it back to www.oocities.org/oldboy_ue to spread the cool.
