Varasova - Kato Vasiliki (Βαράσοβα - Κάτω Βασιλική)

Varasova is one of the premier limestone climbing areas in Greece. Varasova is an 800m high limestone mountain with many routes around 200m and some very remarkable and more serious ones at 50m-80m height. While most of the routes are at the west coast of the mountain, at Krioneri (desribed in www.varasova.gr), the east coast, near the village Vasiliki, hides a less known but equally beautiful and of high climbing interest scenery. A few sport routes have been started to make their appearance in the huge cave by the sea, the most impressive being "Rastaman", 8a+. Plenty room for bouldering can also be found inside the cave. Other routes of interest are the 60m "T.N.T." 6c, and "Nychterida", an English style 6c+.

Plus of the crag its eastern orientation, makes it a good escape from the usually sun-burn Krioneri and, why not, a superb weekend destination of its own...
