Help from Kansas
Darrell and Norva Allison brought fourteen other Wesleyans
from the Kansas District to Suriname to help wherever it was
needed. As the leader of Wesleyan Men in his district, Darrell
has taken numerous teams overseas to help in various Wesleyan
mission fields around the world.
This
team worked in Suriname for two weeks, and they accomplished
a good deal. Their work began with repairs upon the Sloot Wesleyan
Church. The church building and parsonage are over fifty-years-old.
The team put a new roof on the church and parsonage buildings.
They painted inside both buildings, refurbished the pastor's
kitchen, scraped windows clean, replaced ceiling tiles, and did
a hundred other things.
During
the second week, Darrell and Company went to work on the Bible
School building. Some of the workers installed doors, others
painted, gutters were installed, and new metal sheets were placed
on a second-story roof. The building really seemed to come together
once paint was put up on the walls and our beautiful new doors
were set in place.
