This was supposed to be a walk to Wire Rope Falls but I
was unable to obtain permission to cross private land
on this particular day so we headed off to the recently
reopened Coomera Circuit. This is a lovely walk up
along the headwaters of the Coomera River at Binna
Burra. It is very similar to the Albert River Circuit
at O'Reilly's and of a similar length of about
17.5Km.
Unfortunately, there is
no view of the Falls at present with the old viewing
platform having been removed some time ago because it
was unsafe. But, there were plenty of small waterfalls
along the very scenic river.
There has been a lot of
heavy work done by the Rangers rebuilding the track and
relocating parts of it, including a couple of stone
stairways.
I had been told that a family of quolls live in the
area of the relocated track but, being daytime, we saw
no signs of them.
It was a pleasant walk
with great company. Thanks to all who came along and
enjoyed the exercise and the afternoon tea at the cafe
at Binna Burra. Patricia
