This was one of many walks that YHA Bushwalkers put on
for the Pilgrimage. This small peak is in the Blackall
Range and in an area not frequented by our Club. This
was a chance to check out a new walk and meet new
friends from other clubs.
After a short drive we regrouped and began the walk.
This area is also available for trail bike riders who
raced past us noisily as we crossed the track. However
we soon left the noise behind and began the uphill
climb till we came to a cliff wall. We contoured round
and up and made it to the top ridge. The leader then
took us to some cliff edges for views and a long
morning break. After some more walking through the dry
sclerophyll forest and some old Forestry tracks we came
to another cliff where we had lunch. The time was spent
relaxing and socializing with fellow walkers.
The descent was via a steep gully and a dry creek bed.
Finally we reached another Forestry track and made our
way back to the cars.
Many thanks to YHA for this interesting walk.
