Modifying Your PS2

There are two ways to mod a PS2 to run imports: a modchip or a fliptop. A modchip blocks the PS2's ability to read regional encoding, allowing games from Japan, for example, to be read on a U.S. PS2. Sony, being the large company they are, included regional encoding on their DVD's, to prevent US games to be run in Japan and visa-versa.
