Peneloponaea,
the powerful Karboten archmage, defied the Phoenix thousands of years ago,
and it immolated and destroyed her... or so the arrogant fatima thought
-- for enough power and hatred existed in
Peneloponaea
for her to rise to lichdom and gather her now undead servants to complete the
ritual to become a goddess. It was a successful effort, and with her
newfound power, she rose up the great necropolis of Abbrakka, the city of her birth and death,
now of undeath. She declared it her capital, and set about assigning tasks to her minions to bring
about a functioning despotic state of the undead, a barrier to protect her as she sought more power deep within her
temple of Vexare.
The
gothic towers of Abbrakka are host to the noble vampire families who live in
splendor and oppulence. Ghost and wraith legions patrol the borders and the sky.
Balefire,
City of Lanterns, stands out in stark contrast to the rest of the landscape.
With its walls it is the only place were the living are safe in
Peneloponaea. Of course, it is filled with some of the most salubrious
characters in Qur-tayn dealing in death, drugs, pain and the quest for undeath. Septimus Severus would love it.
There are also numerous towns with
'pits' -- massive holding pens for Peneloponaea's slave population. These places,
overseen by the minions of undeath, are little pockets of hell on earth.
