Anaptun
Abra, the Karboten Republic, is the only land-locked nation in Qur-tayn.
The Karboten comprise over 95% of the population, but they will welcome
nearly anyone who will abide by their laws of equality. The Karboten
have been here in Qur-tayn for over 8,000 years according to Jinatran
scholars. Part of their ability to have survived the constant struggles
of dragon-nations vying for power is due to their 'rune gates' --
magical portals which can transport people (and supplies) from one city
to another in an instant. The secrets of the rune gates are closely
guarded by the followers of Telegmanae,
the patron deity of this magic.
Major
trade goods from Anaptun Abra include gold and gems mined
from Chinmae Mel, silk from Prikatla Han, pipeweed from
Argelor Mel, and magical goods from the capital of Anapra
Han. The Anaptun Abra-Zlaghinova trade routes via Betula
Han & Reems in the SW and Argelor Mel & the
Rovania
in the NW are quite strong.

threats
to/in Anaptun Abra:
-
Peneloponaea,
the Dark Mage, the Wicked Pride (click on her name
for more info which is listed on the religion page)
-
the
Selentine Empire -- Blue
Dragons, Bugbears & Hobgoblins intent on
destroying Anaptun Abra and the Karboten (see Euphigyanaea
and Tinempuuar
for a possible reason); they are constantly trying
to rally their Glenneton allies into beginning a war
with Anaptun Abra, but the Glennetons are not so eager
to attack an enemy they discovered were deceptively
strong (see below)
-
Glenneton
-- allied with the Selentines, the Glennetons made an
assault on Anaptun Abra via the eastern valley; a
great Karboten hero, Zuntyre, managed to rally
Zlaghinovan support, and with a combined Anaptun Abra
/ Zlaghinova, were able to repel the attack; the two
watchtowers, Prikat Sul and Duntri Sul, were built to
ensure that no more Gnoll forces could amass within
the valley unnoticed
-
Evylfar
-- the 'Dark Forest' (known as the 'Badlands' in the
common tongue), is a dense forest from which strange
beast emerge and randomly attack; the most common
threat are 'targs' -- dog-like boars with incredibly
vicious attitudes; because of these threats, travel
between Karbolyf Han and Jinalor Han are usually only
undertaken by large, heavily guarded caravans
