The
Green Dragons and Gnolls came to Qur-tayn by boat and air nearly 9,000
years ago. During the Great War of Lairien, countless Gnoll armies
marched south against the denizens of the forests and grasslands. Some
of the eastern Gnoll cities, however, felt that the expansion was
unnecessary, and broke away from the government. Before the War was even
lost, some armies turned northeast and razed these eastern Gnoll cities
to the ground. Those who escaped came to Qur-tayn with some of their
Green Dragon allies. Showing that history repeats itself, however, the
Glenneton Gnoll population has steadily increased and their expansionist
ways have again threatened their security as they force their neighbors
to bind together against them.
Trade
is only common in Glenneton between their neighboring Gordohemnians
off the east coast and the neutral Almaroons
far in the southern seas. Their highland forests are rich
in resources, however, and they have little need for
strong trade. Mining cities like Ak-Darstir, Ak-Malariz
and the capital, Appe-Glenneton, have unending deposits of
iron, platinum and mithril. The coastal Ak-Oloran (NE)
supports whaling and fishing and Ji-Bitrea (SE) has
excellent fishing.
