Stacy's my Quarter Horse mare and I love her to death.
I gymkhana with her right now, but can do pretty much
anything; trail, show, jumping--English, or Western. She's
very willing-a hard-earned improvement from when we
first got her-and are currently working on getting her over
her fear of two-horse trailers [a huge debt of thanks to
Tom Mowery].

Barn name: Comanche
Age: 8
Comanche's my brother's horse...he's a gorgeous Mustang
with beautiful conformation. He likes to please, but can be
rowdy and gets extremely agitated at shows. He knows how
to pick up he grain bowl and bring it to us and open gates
[learned on his own]. We're trying to adapt him to a wider
variety of environments, and make him more cooperative.
I think he'd be good in halter classes and excell in cutting.
He's a quick little guy, and needs to be constantly challenged
to perform well.

Barn name: Sky
Age: 13
Sky's my mom's thoroughbred that we found, by chance,
at an auction. He absolutely loves attention and is very
calm and affectionate [unusual for a former racehorse],
earning him the nickname 'the big comfy couch'. After
we get him in shape, we're probably going to start him
on jumping.

Barn name: Bucky
Bucky's the oldest of the lot at 30 years old, and still manages
to keep up with the others. She was one of the first horses Jon
and I rode when we were starting out. A few winters ago we
rescued her, starving, from a field and she's been with us ever
since. Bucky's a great trail horse and calm in any situation. We
usually use her when younger kids come out to ride. Otherwise,
she just hangs out :).
