Get familiar with your local theaters. Ask around and discover where the best experiences reside. Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of your regional movie cinemas increase your chances of fully enjoying the time you'll spend watching the film.
Watch the movie on the week of release to get the best auditoriums. Waiting results in smaller auditoriums, fewer showtimes, and a greater chance of discovering the ending.
Special engagements last approximately two weekends after the release of certain movies. These reduce the effectiveness of most passes and discount coupons.
The majority of moviegoers visit on the weekends and holidays. To get great seats, remember to buy advanced tickets and get into the auditorium about 30 minutes early on popular films. If you arrive late, remember the 7-10 minutes of preview trailers that precede the movie.
When a theater shows the movie in different auditoriums, consider seating capacity, sound designations, and overall amenities. Sound designations to look for are THX and digital sound. Auditorium amenities include stadium seating, cupholder armrests, and loveseats.
Remember that THX simply defines quality control measures for sound and image clarity within an auditorium.
