Reef Fishes of the Indian Ocean

Escape to an underwater adventure in the tropical waters of the Indian Ocean. All photographs (unless specified on the picture) were taken at Sodwana with a Nikonas 5 with an SB103 Speedlight. I hope that viewing these pictures will give you as much pleasure as I had when taking them. All technical references are from "A Guide to The Common Sea Fishes of Southern Africa" by Rudy van der Elst and "Reef Fishes of the Indian Ocean" by Dr. Gerald R. Allen and Roger C. Steene - with a few personal (unprofessional!) comments from myself.

Just click anywhere on the little pics to link to the "bigger picture" and some interesting information about the fish. To retain good image quality, some of the images are quite large. Where possible I tried to keep them below 30KB.

To reduce the loading time for this page I have reduced the image quality of the little pics - so please pardon their sometimes blurry appearance - the real ones are better.

I am in the process of re-scanning all the images and updating the photo album - so please pardon the different appearances between the pages:)

I also have a little slide show where you can sit back and view a small collection of some of the pictures. The display can however be effected by your line/modem speed so results are not always guaranteed! You also need to have Java and Java script enabled to view the slide show.
