Two weeks just fly by |
This is going to be a very short entry since I have a ton of work to do. But I haven't written in so long and it's really starting to feel like something's wrong. Weird addiction I've got! A short recap of the week before last: Monday I did the accounting till I was blue in the face and now the year 2002 (sic!) is finally done. tuesday I had the seminar on taxes, I drank inordinate amounts of coffee and bought a stove. I've you've been following the events connected to the Hellhole you may have noticed that things never go as planned. This time was no exception! I bought the stove, had it delivered, invited my brother over to hook it up but that was as far as it went. There was no electrical cord to hook up. The stove was cordless. And when I called the store the next day they said that it was supposed to be cordless and I have to hire some guy to actually hook up the darn thing. They were very surprised that I didn't know that already. How was I supposed to know? How many stoves have I bought during the 23 years I've been on this planet? How many stoves does anyone buy during the first 20-something years of their lives? So, in short, no cooking on Tuesday or Wednesday. I got the guy to come on Thursday and he charged me another 300 EEK for the stupid cord. I was really excited about the Matrix Revolutions on Wednesday and therefore very disappointed when I stepped out of the cinema. I wouldn't be as harsh as some people who say it absolutely sucked (though I can't blame them for thinking that). The action sequences were Matrix-worthy but the plot... Well, there wasn't any. No surprises, no twists! A real disappointment after the first and (in lesser extent) second film. On Thursday I didn't clean anything since I had the stove-guy to wait for and then Eve and her husband came over. On Friday the weekend begun when Ricardo and Sally arrived and I had time for nothing but my friends! Last week I was insanely busy for most of the time, I didn't have time to write or even eat on most of the days until I got home. We went out with Megan and Lynn (who probably needs her name changed since she has started writing too) and discussed pregnancy, children, the politics of G.W. Bush and the state of public transport. Those topics are apparently not suited for Friday nights since we scared off a pretty persistent fellow who seemed greatly interested in Lynn's bosom (sorry, Lynn, it was just too entertaining not to mention!). A big Thank You goes out to GWB - at least his actions are good for something! I went to my mum's to do the laundry and found my little brother playing house with his girlfriend (mum got bitten by the travel bug again and is currently in Egypt). It sounds a bit cruel but was actually really cute! My brother... growing up! I've decided not to open the door behind which there are questions about me still being single. The rest of the weekend was spent doing nothing. Which I don't regret since I was absolutely exhausted from the weeks before. Sometime in Sunday I decided I want to marry Alan Rickman. Even under the best of circumstances it's very unlikely I ever will, I decided to use substitutes. I downloaded a Snape-skin for the sims from http://simstars.ru/ (great skins by the way) and matched him with Riksti (who looks nothing like me) and then played with them for hours. Hooray for SIMulated lives which prevent stalking! Now I've really got to get back to work. I'll try to upload some pictures of the happy family when I get home. Oh, and I have added a lot of links for you today. Those are not to annoy you but to leave you with something to do after you've finished reading this.
