John's Hall
St. John's Hall is located on the west
end of Princes Street near the Princes Street and Lothian Road
corner. Princes Street is renowned as one of the best places to
shop in Scotland, and is probably the busiest street in Edinburgh day
and night. The Fringe's opening Cavalcade (Parade) will even
go right past the venue before it turns onto Lothian Road. Last
year St. John's Hall had one main
theatre space that sat about 100 people. It was arranged as a
"shallow" thrust space with raised seating on 3 sides of the stage. This space will have more technical facilities than
most of our other spaces. We will probably be making some minor
changes to the floor plan for Fringe 2001, but it will be similar to

St. John's Hall also features a
terrace cafe and bar overlooking Princes Street Gardens and the
Castle.
