Monash settler's concrete house, 1919.
In 1918 the first houses were built for the soldier settlers. Houses were mainly built of concrete-in a cubicle fashion-to prevent the ravages of white ants. This style of house was used south of the main highway. Photograph courtesy of the State Library of South Australia.
