Lone Gum (Monash) 1920
Lone Gum store and hall with cellar for store being dug in foreground. The hall, originally from Mitcham Army Camp, became the first school house and later the Institute Building.
Land was surveyed and portioned out into blocks at Lone Gum during 1914. The Monash Survey Camp (Camp No. 4) was most active from December, 1919, till July, 1920, when 14 men were employed on survey work.
