Most importantly donations help us to look after the daily needs of the animals in our care.

Many shops around Whyalla also have Wombat collection boxes on their counters for collecting your spare change after a transaction. Every five cents does help.

Food and Bedding Donations
The Shelter is always appreciative of donations of old towels and blankets to use as bedding.  Any good quality pet food is also welcomed.

Goods may be dropped off at the Shelter or taken into the Westpac Bank branch on Forsyth Street.

RSPCA Merchandise
The RSPCA has a range of pet products and gift lines available. The Shelter stocks a selection of goods and any catalogue lines may be ordered through the Shelter. All proceeds from sales through the Shelter stay in Whyalla to benefit the animals of the Shelter.

Membership
A strong membership base is vital to the RSPCA to help implement change to both animal welfare laws and community attitudes towards animals. Members receive a regular copy of the RSPCA Journal, keeping you up to date with what is happening in the organisation and the latest news in animal welfare issues. You can also participate in the running of the Whyalla Animal Shelter by joining the Whyalla Branch Committee.

Volunteers
Some are needed occasionally, others permanently and some on a 'Help, come quick, we need you right away!!' basis. We would be very pleased to hear from you if you would like to lend a hand.

Badge Days: The Society has an annual Badge Day in September of each year and people willing to sell in the City Plaza and Westlands are always needed.

Raffles: Sellers and purchasers are always needed for our raffles. We run a yearly Mother's Day, Father's Day and Christmas raffle.

Fundraising Support Group: We are in need of people who are willing to put time and effort into various events, outside of normal working hours.

Cake Stalls: We are in need of people who are able to donate homemade baked goods for the cake stalls we hold throughout the year.

Dog and Car Washers: A dog and car wash and sausage sizzle is held every month at the Shelter. We are in need of people who are able to spend some time on a Saturday between 10am and 1pm helping with the activities.

Doorknock Appeal: If you are honest, reliable and have a couple of hours to spare during our next doorknock appeal, please consider volunteering to collect door to door.

Gardening:   If you enjoy gardening, the Shelter's grounds need you!

Please contact the Shelter for more information and to offer your assistance.
