The Boathouses
Here at Reading University Boat Club we are lucky to have a fantastic set of boathouses. There are three buildings on the site. There is the main boathouse that holds all the racing boats in two bays downstairs. Upstairs there is a free-weights room with bench press, bench pull and leg squat stations with a full range of weights including Olympic bars. There is an ergometer room with 8 Concept II rowing ergometers, and 10 sliders. These can be set up to give upto 2 rows of 3 ergos linked up with sliders. There is also a multigym room with the usual multigym stations. The Men's changing rooms and showers are also upstairs. In the Women's boat house some of are older boats for use with beginners are housed, these include restricted fours, several pairs and tub sculls. Upstairs are the Women's changing rooms and showers. Finally, there is the sculling shed. This provides storage for private sculls for members of the University Boat Club as well as staff of the University and other private members.
