The Multiverses

Tenchi Muyo started out as an Original Animation Video that was sold in stores, but never televised. Six episodes were produced and ended with "We Need Tenchi!" The OAV's were so popular that they spawned a Manga that follows directly after the end of the series. This Manga was then made into a second set of OAV's that dealt with Tokimi. The two were bridged by the Special OAV "The Eve of the Festival. There were two other side story OAV's made called "Pretty Sammy" and one featureing a Galaxy Police story told by Mihoshi.
Tenchi eventually found himself on the TV in a totally new story that puts the planet Jurai aside and changes the story dramatically. He also hit the big screen with a movie. There are also many books and more Mangas that deal with the Tenchi alternate universes.
I'm not sure what Cartoon Network will do when finished with the OAV's, but they'll probably do the TV shows. The Japanese names for each show are up on one side and the English names are put up as the shows are put on. The episodes each have a clickable summary, but they give away the entire plot lines. So don't cry when you see spoilers. There are also short summaries for the overall series.

This is called Shin (new) Tenchi in Japan, but was renamed Tenchi in Tokyo in America. I think it's still being released as I write this.
There are many changes in the TV series from the OAV series. Tsunami is not present. Washu did not create Ryoko. Ryoko was never controlled by Kagato. Kiyone, Mihoshi's partner, is a main character.

Drama CD's
Tenchi Muyo has many dramatic songs despite how comedic it is. There are CD's of each series containing each of the songs.
Card Game - Ani-Mayhem
Pioneer created a card game based on the popular Magic: The Gathering using not only Tenchi Muyo characters and creations, but from three other of their anime series as well. It is designed for a single and multiple players, and the decks can be built from one or all of the series.
