Running is a great way to keep in shape. I never thought I'd like to run long distances...but I guess it's one of those things you used to hate but like later on. In high school, I did track and field and I hated running long distances. I got tired pretty easily after....say two laps. I was a sprinter and jumper. Can you believe I actually went to state three years in a row for the long jump? I actually got third in state my senior year. I still can't believe it. Anyways...I remember being a slacker compared to others on the team because our jumper workouts seemed a lot easier.

But I never thought I'd start running for fun. I guess I started running mainly to keep in shape. I never thought I'd do Bloomsday, a race in Spokane, WA that's a little over seven miles. I actually have ran it twice. Some of the other races I've done, which have all been in WA include: the St. Patrick's Day Dash, Nordstrom's Beat the Bridge, Jingle Bell Dash, Husky Dawg Dash, and the Edgewater Run. These races have been fun. It's cool at the end of the race because there's usually a whole bunch of free stuff like bagels, bananas, bottles of water, and other food stuff. Also, the money for the races are usually for a good cause. I haven't done any races lately but I still run to keep in shape.
