Esthar Series
A greatly described fantasy world with various types of magic. There are 3 or 4 more books in the series that I have read, but I don't remember the titles. Yet another author to look up on line. The main city and the overall background would make for a very interesting gaming setup. I especially like how he shows magicians trying to make a living.

Shadows of Saganami Series
Yet a third series in the Honor Harrington universe. It also runs concurrent with the main series and starts after the Ashes of Victory of so. The focus though is on the young people Honor Harrington had an influence on.

These are books set in the Honor Harrington universe, but mostly short stories. Some of the stories are about Honor from before On Basilisk Station, but most deal with backgrounds for other characters. Most of the short stories are written by authors other than David Weber.
