1632 series
This is the series that got me hooked on Eric Flint. It's a time displacement novel. A small town in West Virginia in the year 1999 gets swapped with a section of central Germany from the year 1632. From a gaming stand point, I like the tech discussions on how to build a tech base from what they took back with them. There is an actual roleplaying game for the series published by Battlefield Press.
Other than the first book, Eric Flint is either co-author or editor. Each book will indicate who the co-author is or if Eric Flint was the editor.

Stargard Series
A Polish engineer gets transported from our time (circa 1985) to Poland circa 1300. Typical time displacement story of how engineer builds an industrial society. In this case, he is a dedicated Communist who not only builds an industrial society, but does it to help the workers in addition to himself. I think there is a fifth book, but I have to find the title. Another useful book on cross time tech development.
