July 29, RPH Shelter - mile 1409.1
I'm so tired tonight, it's all I can do just to get through camp chores & collapse into my sleeping bag. I hiked about 19 miles today, and for the first time in NY, said out loud, "This is beautiful". Finally a short section without rocks, where the trail was covered in a plush layer of soft pine needles.
I also fell today AGAIN - removed a sizeable chunk from my palm & scraped up my other shin, plus I put a little twist in both my knee & ankle. I'm not too happy about it but hopefully it's nothing serious.

July 30,Telephone Pioneers Shelter - mile 1425.7
WOW Some how I feel even more tired tonight that last night, even though the miles were shorter today. This up-down, up-down terrain really wears me out! Had a nice stop today at a deli for lunch - I hear there's another near the trail tomorrow AND .....tomorrow night I should be in Connecticut!
July 31, Schaghticoke Camp -mile 1444.2
No sleep last night on that practically - vertical camp site I picked! Although it made it easy to get up this morning at 5:30 for another long day of hiking. The same folks I've been with for the past 3 days are all here again tonight, after planning last night to go on to the next shelter. I was surprised to see them all roll in just now at 8:00, but it's good company so I don't mind that much. It's the "Take Five Team" composed of Terrorist, C.C., Underdog and Bravehead as well as a couple, Minx & Joker. Luckily tonight there are actually enough level tent sites for us all to be comfy. All of us are headed into Kent in the morning , which is 3 miles away.
So far, Connecticut is quite beautiful! It's great to be in a new state.
