At
the Farm House
[00:30:40 into the movie]

When Mrs. Ryan is doing the dishes and sees the army
car drive up in front of the house, the brief scene when she walks into
the parlor you see a phone hanging on the wall. This is a critical error
because phones were not able to be hung on the wall and phone jacks were not
designed yet until the late 40's or early 50's. Rittmeister14

I'm sure
the great people from Iowa saw the fields of TALL, GOLDEN corn, which can
only mean one thing - Harvest time. Corn in June is lucky to be 6
inches high. As Socrates once said, "Knee high by the 4th of July!"
- Just kidding -

If you
have the video with the bonus footage tape, you'll notice how Stephen Ambrose
says that letters were brought by a boy on a bike. In the movie the General
and a Priest go to the house, not a boy on a bike. Marksmenmd

[Reply
to Marksmenmd: He is right. In the scene
in the movie when the priest and the general go to the house of the Ryan's,
that's fine also. If you lost THREE sons in a war, would you want a boy
on a bike or a general of the United States Army telling you that he is
sorry for your loss? M Joannes]

About
the pictures in the Ryan family house, no one said that the four in the
pictures were the brothers. If you notice the four stars in the window
(when the mom is doing dishes), those stars mean that four people were
already killed. The people represented by the stars could have been the
ones in the picture.

[Reply
to Marksmenmn: The thing hanging in the
window with the four blue stars means that there are four people from that
household fighting in the war. If someone is killed the blue star is replaced
by a gold one. M Joannes]

[Reply
to Marksmenmn:
The four stars in the window
of the Ryan home does not mean that the boys had already been killed.
Blue stars meant they were still alive. When a soldier was killed, the
blue was replaced with gold. Maryann Jones]

At the
Ryan House there is a picture that appears to be a picture of the four
of them in army uniforms on mother's dresser. When James Ryan (Matt Damon)
tells the story of his brothers and the hay loft, he ends it by saying
his brother was off to basic training the next day and that was the last
time they were all together. So when was the picture taken? Anonymous

[Reply:
One of the officers talking to General Marshall early in the movie says
that the four Ryan brothers were all in the same company until the Sullivan
brothers incident. This means that a photo of the four of them could have
been taken while they were still in the same company, but this also means
that James Ryan's statement is still incorrect. J.
