Graduate Level Counseling
501 Crisis Counseling
This class describes behaviors that have developed because of the fast pace and stress of our society. It teaches practical ways of dealing with crises in groups and individuals. This is a management course for those dealing with people who are having anxiety, who may be verbalizing or acting out their fears in violent or abusive talk or physical anger.

 

601 Christian Ethics
This course offers formal counseling and technical guidelines in dealing with ethical issues, concerns and accountability.

 

502 Biblical Counseling
This class distinguishes between biblical and secular counseling. The Word of God is quoted throughout the text cultivating three fundamental skills for the Christian counselor - allowing patients to tell their story, choose their goals and practice changes in their lives.

 

Leadership and Pastoral Studies
510 Leadership Development
This class is separated into three distinct parts - the winning attitude, developing leaders around you and becoming a person of influence. It will help develop the mind-set that leads to success. It teaches about strategies that can transform vision into reality and it instructs how the leader can interact more positively with people.

 

511 The Christian Leader 
The book for this course interviews top Christian leaders on their view of leadership skills and the needs of tomorrow’s church leaders. Each leader is candidly interviewed and they each reveal their secrets of success.

 

610 Advanced Leadership
This is a practical, theological and sociological advanced class on leadership and administration. It gives viable tools and ideas for maintaining sound business practices without sacrificing Christian principles.

 

611 Revival Leadership
This course reviews the current revivals, including the Brownsville Revival and the Holy Laughter Movement.  It discusses the aspects of revivals, what caused them, fueled them and ended them.  It looks at them historically, intensely detailing the evidence of each of the great revivals of old. This class reviews "pharasaism", and the churches' role, and current trends to squelch revival.

 

520 The History of Missions
This is a comprehensive study of missions since Christ’s ascension. It details the movements through time that have stirred the continents for Christ.

 

521 Fundamentals of Missions 
This biblically sound foundation for missions’ text by Gailyn Von Rheenen reveals the missionary intent throughout the Bible and the importance of prioritizing missions in all forms of ministry.

 

620 The Principles of Missions
This course reviews the practical side of the missionary experience. It describes the essentials necessary when someone is moving into the mission ministry. It guides the student through the short-term mission trip and shows what it takes to develop a love of the mission field.

 

621 Advanced Missions
This course teaches ideal missionary methods that develop sensitivity and lasting rapport on the mission field. It gives a “by the book” account of what missions should be and includes a global perspective of proper attitudes in the mission field. It also helps the student understand the methodology of raising funds as well as committing to their donors and home churches. Worship and Prayer.

 

530 Worship Filled Life
This course teaches the discipline needed to enter into the throne room of God. Students will be instructed how to live the worship-filled life and accept this role as a believer.

 

531 Advanced Prayer
This course is designed to teach the leader how to develop prayer power. It is a course that teaches the student how to find rest in Christ, receive God’s forgiveness, live the life of miracles and bring the unsaved to the Lord. It uncovers the prayer secrets of Jesus and Paul.

 

630 Charismatic Prayer
This class takes a look at the dynamic prayer life of the “attack lambs” and shows how spiritual intercession can and does change things. The principles and practices of this course are transformational. It involves prayer walking and Christian leadership responsibility in establishing prayer warriors. Christian Studies

 

540 Christology
This study details Christ in the Bible. It reveals God’s presence as Christ is described as the “Angel of the Lord”, “the water from the rock”, “the Messiah” and the revelator’s “Lamb of God”. It is a class designed to achieve intimacy with God by recognizing the majesty of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

 

541 The Hebrew People and Christ
This course compares the Tabernacle of God and the rituals of the Hebrew people to the Messiah. It is a very detailed study that discusses the rituals and festivals that mirror the incarnation of Christ and His second coming.

 

640 Christian Apologetics
This course teaches how to defend the Christian faith. It is constructed to show Christians what they need to do, say and think in order to lead people to the Lord. The text, Christian Apologetics, is by Norman L. Geisler, a nationally recognized expert in cults and aberrant teachings. The thrust of this class teaches the student to be able to “give every man an answer.”

 

641 Hermeneutics
This class teaches believers how to study the Bible. It covers word definitions, contextual arguments, basic Christian doctrinal statements, the historicity of the Bible and other pertinent information.

 

700 Practicum: Thesis
 This is a required report, project, study or film for the Master program. It consists of an approved preliminary topic, an initial overview report and a final submission of the completed thesis.

 

800 Practicum: Dissertation
This is a required conclusive report for the Doctorate program. It consists of an approved preliminary topic, an initial thesis report and a final submission of the completed dissertation.
