ABOUT  US

School No. 191, Bucharest, Romania

Built in 1965 our school is for both boys and girls aged 7 to 15. It has about 420 pupils in 21 classrooms and 28 teachers who are well-qualified and very committed to their job.

Since 2003 we have been working on different web-based collaborative projects (coordinated by our teacher of English, Andreea Silter) together with our European counterparts. Thanks to them we have learnt so many interesting things about our own culture as well as the culture of other European countries.

Have you ever heard about Karol Wojtyla? He was Pope John Paul II, a Catholic Polish Pope . He loved children and wanted to instill peace and love among people. In the hall of the school there is a big painting of Karol Wojtyla.
Our teachers always tell us about him and his great example for young people.
The building is new and situated in the suburb of the town. It hosts pupils from 3 to 13.
We can have Physical Education in the school gym and use computers in two labs. The headmaster and secretary’s offices are downstairs. Upstairs there is our teacher's classroom. Her name is Rosa Merolla.

 C.P/Ramon Menendez Pidal, Spain

The best school of the world
Our school is 75 years old and it´s called Ramón Menéndez Pidal.
The two floors building is situated in the centre of the city but not too far away from one of the three main beaches we have in Gijón.
Downstairs there are the headmaster and secretary´s room. There are also the classrooms for the infants students.
Upstairs there are classrooms for the older students, aged 6 to 12.
Classes start at 9 A.M and finish at 2 P.M. We go to school from Monday to Friday. We do not have lessons in the afternoon.
Some children do come in the afternoon two days a week and two teachers help them with the homework.
It’s very important for us that there is no school on Saturdays.
We have very nice subjects like: Maths, Spanish (Literacy), Music, Science, Art, Physical Education, English, Religious education and the native language of Asturias.
We have a computer room and a library and we love going there.
We have 25 minutes break every day.
We put a lot of effort in decorating the classroom and the hall.
