Candidate Nikatrah

Considering Nika's mother was death, the second wife to die, it didn't help any Nika being a girl. It didn't stop the girl from learning everything her brothers did, just to be recognised in her father's eye. Thus making Nika a very hard worker.

Forced to grow up quickly, Nika is prone to having bouts of childishness she shares with her son. Level headed, calm and always in control, Nika can cope quite well when things fly out of her hands. Rarely getting stressed with the patience of a good foster mother she can deal with any situation with the decorum it deems is necessary.

Though it is partly thanks to her quick witted and independent nature that makes her a resourceful young woman. It's because of that, her trip south was pretty eventless.

Sometimes Nika can come across as being too motherly, the mother of a four turn old who is constantly getting himself into trouble can make her very ...well full of helpful advice that she gives even if people don't want it.

Nikatrah though for all her patience has a temper, and a stubborn streak beyond reckoning. Whilst usually mild mannered Nika is passionate in defending someone regardless of whether they want it or not. Her temper is usually sparked when remarks are made about her son or anyone dear to her, though she makes a most loyal friend indeed.

History: Nikatrah was the daughter of a remarried cotholder; the youngest of her family, Nikatrah was born of the second wife of the cotholder who had three sons by his previous wife before she died. Nika's new mother was not a nice one and showered Nika's brothers with more affection and despised the girl's unfeminine behavior. Nika's life was a fight from the beginning from her mother's death to her step mother's tyranny and father's ignorance of her.

It was a long haul for Nikatrah to be noticed by her father and when she was, it was only to be married at 14 turns to a man 20 turns her senior. He was the only one willing to marry Nika, her wild and independent nature too much for the others. The man was thankfully a kind one, he was a devoted husband to Nika and a lover of animals. Her husband was thrilled when Nikatrah fell pregnant shortly after her marriage to him, after her son Aiyan's birth before her 15th turning luckily the birth was an easy one Aiyan a small child.

At 16, a turn after her son's birth a fire broke out in the barn. Her husband being the animal lover he was raced into the barn to lead out the horses. Nika having grown fond of her husband, knowing his love of the horses ran in after him. She rescued 3 horses successfully before the rag across the 4th's eyes flew up into her face after catching alight from the embers flying about.

Nika woke a sevenday later only with news of her husbands death in the fire and the prospect of being blind for the rest of her life. Upon removal of the bandages several sevendays later the healers were amazed when Nika described everything around her in detail. It took a few days before her eyes could adjust to going outside but by then she had regained her vision fully. Once she had though and was capable of caring for herself and her son again, her husbands brother drove her out not willing to sacrifice his position to her son.
