FAQ

1.) What is play-by-email? Play-by-email is a type of roleplay without dice. You make up a character or in this case a persona. Then you write stories or as we call them posts, or copost with another persona, and send the final post to a mailing list for everyone to read, but never put a post on the web it infringes on a copyright.

2.) What is a mailing list? A mailing list is an email list that everyone is subscribed to so they can receive posts and other important emails. Its very important that you are subscribed to it otherwise you won't be able to read other people's posts.

3.) What is Pern? Pern is a world based on Anne McCaffrey's books "Dragonriders of Pern." She has graciously permitted us to play in her world, so please lets play by her rules. It does help if you have read her books, but its not mandatory. Don't worry you can still play.

4.) What is coposting? Coposting is when two or more personas interact together in a post. Whether it be two of your personas or you and a friend.

5.) Do I have to play the same gender as I? No, you can play either gender. That is what's so great about Pern.

6.) Can my persona have a pet? Yes, though please limit the amount of firelizards you own to five and only one of them can be a gold or bronze. Remember also that there will be only two golds for the Weyr and one each for the Hold and Halls until we grow a bit. These are awarded or earned. Please no goldriders with gold firelizards.

7.) Can I have a dragonrider and a dolphineer? Yes, but they will have to be two seperate personas. You won't be allowed to have one persona that is both. Some dragonriders can be crafters but they usually don't go past journeyman status.
