As the "Rodeo-gil" (Rodeo Drive) sign
indicates, Apgujeong-dong is regarded as the "Beverly Hills
District" of Seoul and is definitely the place to be for those
who appreciate the
"finer" things of life. Elite Institute is located within a few
blocks of this intersection and across the street from Korea's largest and
most famous restaurant, Samwon Garden
(shown on the
right). This fine establishment serves traditional Korean cuisine and
seats over 1200 people! It also features an amazing garden, with
picturesque waterfalls and babbling brooks. Incidentally, it is owned by
the family of LPGA golfing sensation, Grace Park.
The town
of Apgujeong-dong also has some of the most expensive foreign brand import
stores in the country. Many people come here to browse through the trendy
shops specializing in Calvin Klein, Versace, Armani, Ralph Lauren, Gucci,
Nike, and other designer brands.
The next several images were taken in this
very nice, very exclusive Apgujeong-dong, KangNam-gu area. And they are
followed by a couple of shots of my immediate work environment (i.e..
classroom):
