:: 18 May 02 sat :: Meeting of the confederation

:Thank God that everything went well for the IC meeting. We're happy to know that all our friends enjoyed our new home so much that they stayed around tho the meeting was over. The ladies were sitted round our huge dining table talking about their husbands, and the guys hung out in the balcony. And Chris' little girl was happily running around the home! =))

Actually, John and myself forgot all about the meeting till Ivan called us this morning (around 12pm). Of course, we panicked. We even had a big argument - fault finding and just blaming each other for not organising it well. We're both stressed up coz we had to rush for API class at 2pm.... that means we didnt have much time to prepare the meeting, let alone the food and drinks! Anyway, we worked thru it and it was a great time together. Thnx to Mr Kentucky & Pizza Hut.


:: 17 May 02 fri :: Search is over

: Great! Our wedding cards're settled. So much hard work leh - travelled to Ubi rd 1 lah, Toa payoh indl park lah... Red cards with gold wordings - not exactly the kind of cards i fancy but i'm sure our parents will love them. The cards will be ready in abt 10 days' time - i hope they can hurry and get them out before next weekend. We also met our photographer for the actual day to discuss the DAY's event. He asked us one qn that got us into some serious thinking: "What's so special about your wedding?" ---oh dear, there's nothing very special about our wedding - it's just another wedding! of course, we did not tell him that! john cooked up some 'sales talk' about our wedding - but any pro can tell that he's smoking.


:: 15 May 02 tues :: Dinner cards search

: Bad news! We'r in trouble! All the cards provided by Hotel and Kriston are not nice and we dun have time to wait for the nicer ones to be printed. STRESSSSSSSS....... We'r desperate!! arghhh... God, help us to think through. "WITH CHRIST IN THE VESSEL, WE CAN SMILE AT THE STORM."

:: 12 May 02 sun :: 3 cheers for Chinese 'LAW'

: My mom really adores me. She spent over 4K on jewelry yesterday - just for me! She said that it's the "LAW" (Chinese customs) that the bride's mom buys some jewelry to adorn the bride. I also heard that it's LAW that John's mom buys me something. (John is very stressed now) Boy, i feel expensive.


:: 10 May 02 fri :: Honeymoon

:The flight is confirmed. We'll be flying to Phuket for three days and four days in Bangkok. I really look forward to the shopping but not the weather tho'. think i'll look very silly with an umbrella?!! Or how about a sheer shawl to cover my whole arms and face? that's what Sammi Cheng did when she did the "Mo-Mo-Cha" movie in Phi Phi Island. John promised me that we'll go to a far-away land (much further than Thailand) by end of this year - perhaps East Europe, New Zealand or Turkey. No baby till my wish is fulfilled. Yes, that's a threat! =)

John says he'll get me a beach umbrella so that i dun get any tan at all when we're in Bangkok. =))


:: 10 May 02 fri :: Take a break

: We watched SpiderMan last nite. Hmmm... Maguire really looks like SpiderMan, he has big doggy eyes. And know wat, i dreamt that i was Spiderman last nite. Dun ask me how i looked in the Spidy's outfit. I didnt see myself in the mirror; i was looking through the eyes of Spiderman (that's me!). And i perfected my web-spunning skills. =)) Cant wait to watch Star Wars next week... i wonder what i will dream of???

: Apprehension. A mixture of feelings. Yesterday it dawned upon me that i have ONLY 7 weekends (*SCREAM*) left before my Big Day! Bad! there's re so many things that i've not done yet!! the cards, the wedding schedule, my dresser mirror, my UOB spa which i've not been able to find a booking since last Sep, my diet plan- oh dear - the leaking kitchen.... (*SCREAM*)

Getting married is really no joke, there's so much sensitivity involved. The other day, my mom blew up just becos i asked her if she cld give me her unused pots and pans. She was furious and repeatly said that they (pots lah) were meant for her sons, not daughters! I was shocked at her reaction. you shd have just seen her face - her whole face was so RED ... i wonder wat's the big fuss. perhaps, it's a bad sign - that her daughter will slave in the kitchen forever? sigh. whatever.


:: 2 May 02 thurs :: Excuse me, are you a model?

:Photo-shoot today!! So fun!! And.. *smile* i looked so pretty. i really think so. Make-up can do wonder to a woman's face. John had some make-up on too, to hide his pimples. We went to Emerald Hill, Old SJI, Pongol and famous bridge just outside fullerton hotel. The Photographer, Andrew Tay, simply loves John. he thinks John is "natural" in front of the camera. cant wait for the photos to be out. Also, a few pple congratulated us and said to "You're a pretty bride." =)) Someone thot we're modeling leh... =))


:: 26 Apr 02 fri :: Reno Blues

: For the past two months, since mid Feb, we've been BUSY BUSY BUSY with our flat reno. Disastrous! sometimes i wonder why we spent so much time building a home that is temporal! Vanity, vanity, all is but vanity! I cant believe it that our old 5-room flat took two months to complete. We only did up the toilets and kitchen, some rewiring, plastering and painting. So many things went wrong: First the toilet's not flushing well, then the shower head's spoilt. Not long after, the kitchen pipe leaked. then, the shower tap (this time, the master's bedroom toilet)'s not working too....argh... just to top it off, the kitchen pipe is starting to leak again...Arghhh... and our contractor cracked a few of our floor tiles which we cannot do anything to salvage becos the tiles're are old patterned tiles not found in the mkt today ...argh...I hate renovation work!!
