: An assuring email from Weng lee (thank you, we need it): The Lord has his thoughts upon you even right now. Believe it or not, I have right in front of me the memory verses from the spiritual discipline class and this is the verse for you:

And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for word; (Romans 8:26) (Partnership with the Holy Spirit)

In the same way, the following verse speaks to me:

Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. Buy woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up. (Eccl4:9,10) (Partnership with Spritual Friends)

As you go about your daily routine, be conscious, very conscious of his presence with you, standing beside you and going before you. Converse with him and pour out to him. Partner with the Holy Spirit in the things you do. With this awareness, he will indeed assure you and lift you up. In an amazing way, you situation also ministers and gave direct application to me thru His Word. Amen! God bless.


:: 31 May 02 fri :: Grandma updates

: Some updates: Grandma is in hospital for observation. She has more white blood cells than red blood cells which cld be due to various reasons said the doc. she is fecal flooded, that is, alot of shit stuffed inside. But there're no bowel movements at all, no urges to go toilet. Reasons: 1. something about blood vessel there is cut off. 2. her diet 3. her diabetic condition. Anyway, Doc said he will give her medicine to help her pass motion and will observe her progress.

I think Grandma was rather sad. She held my left hand and placed it close to her forehead. And she did the same for my right hand. Then after that, she did the same thing with John's hands. We quizzed her. She said that she loved us and wld miss us dearly.... she's "going to see Yahweh God" soon. We assured her and told her that it's a minor problem and the doc had everything under control. =(

Oh, i learnt a new word - fecal (n): a nicer term for shit. when the doc told us that grandma was fecal flooded, we went "Huh, what is that? What flooded?" He then bluntly said, "Alot of shit, shit everywhere." I was very tempted to ask, "Everywhere? Where?"


:: 30 May 02 thurs :: Grandma's admitted...again

: Juz got a call from John that his grandma was rushed to A&E again. Heard that she vomitted the whole nite...if you're reading this, do bear us in prayers. John told me that he "cannot handle this kind of stress anymore". i think he really cannot take it anymore - his work is piling, family crisis, all the preparation work for the wedding etc.... plse pray for us? thnx!


:: 29 May 02 wed :: Star Wars boo...

: For Star Wars dudes, the show's not worth watching. Reason: half the show, I think George Lucas's mind was in the orbit. Whoever thought of the lines for Padme and Anakin ought to watch the original Star Wars. I was cringing in my chair with those teeny-poppy love lines. YUCKS!!!

Hmm.. We are left with ONLY three weeks to our marriage. Not all our cards are out.. Oops...bear with us, ok? We will send them to you soon! Also, grandma is now resting at home - thanx for your concern and prayers!!


:: 28 May 02 tues :: Evening Gown revealed

: Alot of you have been asking me about my evening gown, but i cldnt quite paint a picture with words. But one thing for sure, i really dislike my gown - it's auntie: it's pale lilac colour with some flowery embriodery along the neckline. I thot the gown in the picture below looks very much like mine. BUT you have to widen the waist portion a bit more, probably by five inches. =))

BTW, my colleague, Lester, got married in the Shark tank, Underwater world today. His wedding will be NEWSY news tomorrow. =))

:: 27 May 02 mon :: Lelong ah... take your cards

: The WAIT is finally over!! The cards're out yesterday! Thnx to our friends who helped us in the distribution (grace, lailai, ivy, hingloon, ivan and elina). If we did not spell your names correctly (Bentinck, Gwan Quan, Jaslyn etc), plse plse forgive us!! If you have not received our cards, they're probably still with us (that means you did not attend service yesterday...ohhhhh!!!!...or maybe church's too big, we didnt manage to bump into each other) And if we wrote on your cards "and partner" (like Sin Chuan, Chongjin), plse plse forgive us again. our minds just went blank and we just cld not think properly. And if you received double cards from us (like Tuck Leong), no, it doesnt mean that you have to give angbows X 2, but we're not stopping you either. If we cldnt hand the cards to you personally, plse forgive us!!

Now, you can relieve our stress by RSVP early to our email address. We'r sure you dont like the idea of receiving long-distance call from us while you're happily worshipping the Lord in the Church Camp. Even if you wont be at the camp, it is good to be early. My teacher taughter me that "The early bird catches the worm". =))

: Good News!!! We got THE cards!!! We can finally start writing on the cards and send them out before it's really too late!!! =)) Patience everyone!

: Exactly one month to our BIG DAY!! Block out that day on your calendar ok? Yes, the cards are on their way.... =)) Patience.

Updates on J's Grandma: Thnx for all your SMSs and phonecalls! She is stable now, doing much better. Doc says her heart is weak and she has water in her lungs. She is still in the hospital for observation and tests. Thank you everyone for your concern and prayer!!

: Yippie!! My CDs are in today! they shd be in only next week! =)) Yes, i ordered two CDs on the net becos i really liked them, particulary one piece - Arioso in A! I hope to use that for my march-in!

:: 22 May 02 wed :: PhotoSelect

: We (john, me & two of my friends) had a hard time selecting the photos last nite. It was not easy to spot out 24 photos for enlargement. (My photographer was not modest afterall, he's frank) The photos were so-so; the angle and perspective were somewhat wrong. Most of the photos had too much of the environment that we looked so tiny. Or either one of us looked ugly - I looked especially fat in some (wow lao, my arms're huge =P)and john looked like a 'bittergourd' in some photos. Someone suggested a strategy: to sort the photos into three stacks of Must-haves, Can-haves and absolutely dont want photos - starting from me, then SP, then Cheryl and lastly John. Once we reached a common consensus, we sieved through all the photos again, this time to make sure we did not miss out any good photos. Then sorted them into stacks of Really really Must-haves, really really Can-haves and Dont want. Aiyah, it's confusing! It labourious! Not easy at all! All photos were scrutinised by a panel of judges with diff likings - imagine the little arguments we had throughout the selection process. After 2 hours of hard stares, we managed to select 27 photos (3 additional photos). Wanna see the photos? They'll be ready a wk before our wedding!

Another conclusion reached: Alice was never thin and her arms were never slim ... "That's her wat!" - Everyone gave up selecting photos that I looked really good. So, dun be surprised to see one photo or two with alice showing her tummy or flabby arms. =)


:: 21 May 02 tues :: Keep your fingers XX

: Good news! our printer took pity on us and agreed to rush out the cards by sat!! - the not-so-nice-ching-cheong RED Invitation cards are finally deliverable THIS SAT!! I'm so happy!! But we've to pay additional $40/- for express service. =) No choice... 'borrow money to ease crisis' (chinese proverb). And tonite, i'm going to select my photos... hope they turn out nice. When we spoke to our photographer yesterday, he said the photos were "ok loh"...i hope he's being modest.

Some updates on John's grandma: Thanks for your prayers. She is much better now as compared to Sunday when she was first hurried to the hospital. Doc is doing some tests on her to see what really happened that had caused her to collapse. They're also investigating the reason why AH discharged her on Sat nite. Doc told us that it's a long term sympton; it didnt happen overnite - could be a failure of her major organs (either heart, liver or kidney). Really thank God for rescuing her from the brink of death - she nearly could not pull through on sunday. We're still keeping her closely in prayers!


:: 20 May 02 mon :: Thank-u brethrens

: Really thank God that John's grandma is feeling much better now tho she's still under observation! She was rushed to the A&E yesterday becos she was breathless and unresponsive! We thot she could not make it thru! Doc even told us that we should have sent her in earlier....

John said that it's a wake-up call for both of us. We've been so engrossed with our little world - wedding preparation, our new home, our work - that we forgot our loved ones around us. We forgot that LIFE is fragile and should be treated with care! Foolish is he who spends so much time on the things with no eternal value and forgets what's TRULY IMPT! God, fix our eyes on things above!

A big thank-you to all our friends who have been praying for grandma and our families!
