30th ASEAN Schools Track & Field Championship, Chiang Mai Thailand , 23-30 Jul

Two of our athletes, Sharon Yeo Hui En (400 m Hurdles) and Lee Chang Xi (100 m Hurdles), represented the country as part of the Combined Schools Team at the 30th ASEAN Schools Track & Field Championships.  They were selected based on their excellent performance in their respective events at the National Inter Schools Track & Field Championships 2006.  Our Captain Sharon Yeo did the country and college proud by winning a bronze medal in the Girls 4 x 400 m relay event.  In her 400 m hurdles event, she came in a credible 5th position.  As for Lee Changxi’s 100 m hurdles event, she ran an excellent race to come in 4th.

19 Jul:
Girls Team: 
800 m : Denise Choo 05S12 - 7th 
100 m : Sharon Yeo - Bronze, Ang Yu Jia -6th
4x 100 m : Ester Tan, Sharon Yeo, Lee ChangXi, Ang Yujia - Gold (4th year in a row) 
4x 400 m: Lau Shu Fang, Ester Tan, Sharon Yeo, Lee ChangXi - Bronze 

Boys Team 
1500 m : Lim Zi You - 8th 

Our Girls Team came in 4th after many nail-biting races yesterday even up to the very last race. RJC was first with 152 points. We eventually lost to VJC (93)and ACJC (93) for the fight to the second by 1 point (NJC-92). VJC (3 gold medals)came in second based on gold differences against ACJC (2 gold medals). Our girls team gathered 3 gold medals, 2 silver and 5 bronzes in this championship.

400 m: Ester Tan won the Bronze medal.
100 m Hurdles:   Lee Changxi won the Silver Medal

13 Jul:
Boys Team -
1500 m: Lim Ziyou of 05S05 and Andre Kumar of IP04 qualified for the finals on 19 Jul. 

Girls Team- 
800 m: Denise Choo of 05S12 and Low Tse Ruey 06S22 qualified for the finals on19 Jul. 
200 m: Ang Yujia 06S07 and Ester Tan 06S20 progressed from the semi-final to the finals. 

12 Jul: 
Girls Team- 
400 m Hurdles: Sharon Yeo - Gold (5th Year in a row), Lee Changxi -Silver 
Triple Jump: Charmaine Tan - Gold (New NJC Record 11.01 m), Gui Liting -7th 
1500 m: Denise Choo -8th

2nd Allcomers Meet - 28 May 
Bukit Gombak Stadium - 2pm

See us in action at this weekend's 2nd Allcomers Meet at the Bukit Gombak Stadium.

DSA Application - Closing Date is on 26th May
Please submit your entries as soon as possible.   If you are short listed, we will notify you to come for a trial on 29th May (Mon) 4 pm at the NJC Track.  We are in the process of forming a strong athletics team for Year 2007.


32nd National Junior Athletics Championships 2006 
8th Apr -23 Apr Bukit Gombak Stadium
The competition is still on going.  Lee Changxi and Sharon Yeo did us proud in their respective events.  Lee Changxi won the bronze medal in the 100 m hurdles.  Sharon Yeo won the silver medal and Le Changxi came in 4th in the 400 m Hurdles.  More details can be found at www.singaporeathletics.org.sg.

47th National Inter Schools Cross Country Championships
12th April  Turf City
The Boys and Girls Team came in 5th with 2 individuals medals (Boys- Lim Ziyou Joe -19th, Low Tse Ruey-15th).  Both Team ran they heart out and gave their best for their races.  They have improved steadily over the past few months.  Given the terrible weather and the strong field on the race day, they performed very well.  Credits must be given to the help from the Canoeing Team.  With their assistance from their Boys and Girls Team, our Cross Country Team is able to hold off the other up and coming JCs from over taking us.  The Boys Team improved from their last year position from 6th to 5th. 

Swift X-Country Championships
1 April Macritchie Reservoir

The Girls Team did well and came in 4th overall.  This will not be possible without the help from the Canoeing Team.

SPH Relay 2006
25 &26th Mar 06 Bukit Gombak Stadium
We won the A Division Girls Championships title.  Its the 3rd title in the last 4 years.  Last year, the Girls came in 2nd.  This title would not have been possible without the excellent performance from the sprinters and the long distance runners.  Not to forget, the support from their fellow teammates played an important part of this victory.  The Boys Team came in 6th overall.  The 4 x 800 m  Boys Team came in 4th  and (Andre Kumar, Lim Ziyou, Thomas Law, Jonathan Ee Wenyang) broke the NJC 4 x 800 m record as well.
