Othello falls in love with Desdemona yet is having thoughts put into his mind that she is no good. He is slowly being poisoned into thinking Desdemona does not love him. Othello and Desdemona are to talk at once
The scarf in which Othello gave to Desdemona was stolen by her friend, and used it to make it seem that Desdemona is betraying Othello with Cassio. He dwells on the thought of Desdemona making love to another man. Iago portrays that his poisoning Othello’s mind is working. Othello said he would have been better off if he had not been told of Desdemona, and tells Iago to show him proof, for Iago to backup what he says is true, if at all it is true.
Othello believes that Desdemona is loyal, and that Othello shall not believe Iago until he is given proof of this disloyalty. Iago tells Othello that Cassio had talked of having Desdemona in his dreams. Iago tells Othello to ask Desdemona if she has the scarf, if not she had given it as a gift to Cassio. Othello tells Desdemona of the importance of the scarf, that giving it away was the worst kind of betrayal. She does not wish to fetch the scarf for Othello, yet is unable to find it. Little did she know that her friend had taken it from her.
Othello’s jealousy had made him not think of nothing, but Desdemona and Cassio having each other, and had a fit as he thinks of it. Othello thinks that Cassio is talking of Desdemona, yet he is talking about his wife, saying that he to be with his wife soon. Othello asks Iago how he may murder Cassio. For so he thinks of taking Desdemona, and then he shall make her pay for her betrayal. Iago tells Othello to strangle Desdemona in her bed. As Iago swears all he has said is true. Othello asks Desdemona to sear that she is loyal to Othello. Othello calls her a whore for what she was accused of betraying him. Desdemona says even though he wants a divorce, she shall never stop her love for him. Iago tells Desdemona not to worry for all shall be all right.
. Iago continues to implant thoughts in Othello’s mind and others around him. Desdemona talks to her mother about Othello’s behavior and what it must mean. Iago kills Cassio the man that was said to be with Desdemona. Othello talks of how it will grief him to kill his wife Desdemona, and says he must before she betrays more men. He goes to Desdemona’s room to act as if he wishes to make up, and that she was right. Othello tells Desdemona that he knows she gave the scarf to Cassio. He strangles her and tells her not to struggle. His wife’s friend tells Othello that she was the one who took the scarf. Othello attempts to make Iago pay for his lies that made him kill Desdemona. Othello tells the police that he has done then a favor for killing a man of those twisted ways. Othello wanted everyone to know that he love Desdemona, and that man had warped his mind and made him kill Desdemona. In the end he kills himself not wanting to live with what he had done.
