Imagemaps are exactly what they say - an Image that is being portrayed as a map of links. The most widely used Imagemap on the Web, that I find, is the Clientside Imagemap. The only downside to using a Clientside image map is that not all browsers will be able to read it. If you are going to use an Imagemap, I suggest that you also offer alternative links.
