A New Beginning #1 As our story begins we find Kagome and Inuyasha and standing side by side staring down into the well. Having just returned from the final showdown with Naraku, they have destroyed the Shikon Jewel so its power would never again be corrupted. (They defeated Naraku in case you hadn’t guessed). Miroku and Sango are at the recently deceased Kaede’s house. (don’t ask me how she died, its just part of the story.) Kagome and Inuyasha stand contemplating on what they will do next. Inuyasha: So… you going back to your time? For good? Kagome: I suppose… Inuyasha: …….. Kagome: …….. Kagome turns to look at Inuyasha, he has a strange look in his eyes. Sango and Miroku walk into the clearing. Miroku: Ahem…. Inuyasha and Kagome are startled having not realized that anyone was around. Sango: So have you decided what you’re going to do? Inuyasha: ……………. Kagome: Nothing, not a word from him. He doesn’t want me around. Even with Kikyo gone…I don’t know why I’m so surprised. I guess, maybe I thought that …well no, that’s silly. Kagome begins to move toward the well. Inuyasha: Wait! Kagome: Hn? Inuyasha: I can’t believe I’m going to say this in front of the others. Oh well, I can’t let her leave…not now. “Kagome, wait! I- I don’t want you to leave!” Kagome: Y-you don’t? You don’t want me to leave? Inuyasha: No, of course I don’t. Kagome, I…. The earth begins to shake, and a bright glowing light emerges from the Bone- eaters well… We see a tall, thin girl of about fifteen years of age with long black hair and dark blue eyes. She appears to be at the sacred shrine where Kagome lives just outside the open door to the well. Judging by her clothing (a white T-shirt and blue jeans.) it seems to be modern times. She also has a small black cat on her shoulder. Girl: Japan sure is beautiful, isn’t it KiKi? [ FYI: KiKi is the cat mentioned earlier. And don’t ask me why she’s talking to the cat.] Girl reaches down and scratches her hand. (It’s off screen.) Fx hand: scratch scratch KiKi: Meow? An older woman walks up from behind a building. Woman: Hakari! The girl turns around. Apparently her name is Hakari. Hakari: Yes Mom? Woman: Only 10 more minutes until we have to go back to the Hotel, okay sweetie? Hakari: All right, I’ll be there in a couple of minutes. Hakari: Sighs, looks down at her right hand. She itches her hand again and we see a strange sort of sign. FX hand: scratch, scratch Hakari: Ever since I came to this shrine my hand has been itching more than normal. I wonder why? Could it have anything to do with the girl who supposedly fell down the well and never came back? I can sense a strange sort of power here... then again, I could just be imagining things. My foster mom always said I had a rather active imagination. In the mean time the wind has been blowing increasingly harder. [Wind blows harder. Wind begins to blow really hard] Fx wind: Whoosh Hakari: Where did this wind come from? Hakari braces herself (there’s no sign of the cat) Hakari is lifted off her feet and thrown into the well. Hakari: KYAAA!!! Somebody help me!! Hakari continues to fall in the well, even long after she should have hit the bottom. With the sudden burst of light from the well, Inuyasha grabs Kagome and gets in a defensive stance in front of her with Tetsuiga at the ready. Miroku joins him, standing in front of Sango.
