MY LIFE - AUGUST

Here's attempt number two on this entry after my first one was lost on a computer freeze. Before I go on with the actual entry, let me say that it's freezing in here, my hands are numb, and I'm trying to write this and talk to Lindsay at the same time.

That reminds me, Lindsay kindly reminded me that I failed to mention Danys Baez in my Come Again column as a favorite pitcher, so I'm going to rectify that mistake now...

Favorite Indians pitcher...Danys Baez. Has a great fastball, great curveball, and when he has decent command, he can shut down even the Yankees. Maybe he's the true #1 on the staff.

Okay, now on to the actual task at hand.

I was surprised to find that I had a notice that someone had signed my guestbook. I hadn't gotten one of those in, well, it had been so long that I couldn't remember the last time I got that kind of notice. I went to go check it with the link that was in the e-mail, but I couldn't remember my user name or password so I just went to my site and checked it out for myself.

Well, I was surprised to find three new entries in there, not just one, two of them good, another one that was kind of a mixed bag. I won't mention the name on the third one, but anyone with half a brain knows how to look into my guestbook and see who it is. It's not confidential.

Anyway, the first one was from Lindsay, a girl I've been talking to for a while now. Fun girl, easy going, doesn't get all worked up over small things, and is very quick to explain and accept explanations. So that's a good thing. She's a fun girl to talk to, although there isn't anyone that I talk to who isn't fun at one point or another.

The message is pretty much to the point. I get reamed for not mentioning Danys Baez in the previously mentioned column, so I had to make amends for that blunder. And she says hi to everyone reading. I'm sure everyone says hi back. Yeah, you're awesome Lindsay.

The second one was from Niki, another girl that I talk to. Yeah, there's a theme. I talk almost exclusively to girls, especially since that weird ass old guy immed me and sent me a picture of himself without a shirt on. Forever will that terrible memory be etched in my mind.

Anyway, Niki left a nice message and that's been the general trend, well outside of one of the very first ones, which was kind of stupid anyway. I think it might have been a gag, but I never did really care anyway.

The last one that I looked at was from someone I no longer talk to, someone who I really never quite understood fully, and that might have been the whole problem. The entry itself is kind of both an apology and an attack, which was kind of weird to see, but understandable. It's viewable for everyone to see, just click on "view my guestbook" on the main page to check it out.

I guess I was more surprised to see people signing it then anything else, but oh well. If everyone signed it, it would take the fun out of figuring out what was going on.

In the meantime, my cat's flipping out on the steps more and more. Her big thing today was to chase this tag from a bird toy all over the steps. At one point, she actually fell halfway down the steps, but never missed a step. I swear, there's some catnip in this room somewhere because she was running into things, banging her head on things, and never even slowed down.

She doesn't do this all the time though. She especially doesn't do it when a lot of people are home and stops right away when someone sees her. With me, she'll keep going. It's weird. She's 8 years old, and hasn't lost a step.

The other cats are doing fine. They don't seem to be bothered by their arrangements in the cages, if anything, it's the life for them because they can just sit around all day, eat, and do nothing at all.

Anubis, one of our dogs, doesn't take to his arrangement though. He does not like going in his cage, and so he squeals and squeals and makes these weird noises until he falls asleep.

Now, if anyone remembers talking to me a while ago when she was getting our last two cats, you'll remember how much of a thrill she got out of sedating in the ass. Yes, my mom is like that. She likes to play with needles (she is a nurse), and sedating the cats gave her a certain thrill that I really can't explain or want to understand.

Anyway, she gets to sedate Anubis, although it's a little more traditional. She just gives him a half-tablet of a sedative tablet and it knocks him out after a few minutes. She's also going to give it a shot with him in the bed at night and see if he can't calm down a bit. This is the worst part of the house situation though. The dogs have to stay at the room during the night.

Now, I love Hot or Not. Not only are there some good looking girls on there, but it's funny to read some of their profiles and see just how big an ego they have. Some of these girls think they are such hot stuff and they aren't afraid to say so.

It's funny and really silly at the same time. How many times I've I read that a girl is a fun girl, the life of the party, and just a great girl to know. Now, how many of these girls will only consider guys who are hot, muscular, big partiers, and any other combinations of popular stuff.

Now I laugh at these because it's obvious these girls are the ultrapopular kind and will not consider any guy that doesn't have most of those traits. Pretty much, it's model-type girls with model-type guys and it's both stupid and unfair.

The standards that are set are pretty much based around popularity. For me with girls, there's three or four levels of girls, which is stereotyping, but it's how I see things. There are the hot girls, who can be party girls, prissy, and a bit snotty, although it's not always the case. There are exceptions of course. Some hot girls are really nice, but others are just bitches.

You have your cute girls, who can look better then the hot girls, but it's the cute factor that causes that. These are girls who may or may not get a little dirty from time to time, take less care with their appearance, generally more athletic, nicer, more inclined to talk to more kinds of guys, and don't really need the best looking guy to be happy. They're my kind of girl and the kind I'm attractive to.

There are the heavy-set girls who think that they're better looking then they are. These are the girls that wear tight ass shirts when they are practically bulging out of and wear a ton of make-up as if that's making them look better. Don't get me wrong, some large girls can look cute. It's possible. It's just sad though to see a girl that's overweight try and walk around in a tight shirt.

The last one is the overweight girls who just let their weight get out of control, have no self-esteem, and can't seem to lose the weight and get depressed. These are the girls that also get shit on by everyone in general.

The hot girls, while good-looking, often leave me pissed off because it's more about what they want then what's important. I just wouldn't be able to deal with the mainentance and cost of being with them. Plus, a lot of them have attitudes that I couldn't put up with.

Now again, this isn't true about all of them. This is just what I've been encountering.

I like the cute girls though. Girls that wouldn't blow away most guys with their looks will get me. I've seen a couple of them where they had ratings of 6 and 7 and they looked so cute, I had to give them a 9 or 10. I just had to because that's what gets me. That's the kind of girl I like most.

So anyway, I've seen some other things too. Like the large number of bisexual girls and lesbians. It's amazing to me just how many girls come right out on the site and say it. Sometimes I wonder if it's just for extra attention, other times it's obvious that the girl isn't sure.

One last thing, what's the deal with all the white girls who want black guys and/or thug type guys? One girl made me laugh. She wanted a thugh with manners and class. Um, contradiction there. I find it strange that white girls will openly ask for black guys, but you'll never see a white guy looking for black girls.

And yes, I have way too much time on my hands sometimes.

This entry is, unbeknownst to you, taking place over two days. See, it's Tuesday night as I finish it, so here's a little about what happened today. I worked with Jim at his store and it's a pretty nice store. Nice pace, good people, and customers who have a slightly better clue then the ones in Berea.

As I suspected a while ago, Jim wouldn't mind if I transferred over and I would consider it, not because of Jim perse, but because I have a feeling things are going to go to hell at my store. Steve's thinking of transfering, Nate's not happy, Regina can't be happy, and most of the techs are upset.

This, my friends, is not good. This does not bring good feelings into the store at a time when we start to get busy. I just have a bad feeling about this all and I'm prepared to ask for a transfer if things get too bad. I will not put up with a shitty fall and winter again like last year.

To make it simple, there's no one to take my place when I go back to school, which means there's going to be some real problems in the morning.

I guess you could say that for once, Jim did something intelligent. He got out of there before it got really bad.

Some final notes before I go. Tim Couch and Kevin Johnson of the Browns were on "The Best Damn Sports Show Period" tonight and it was pretty funny. Couch is going to have a huge year and Johnson should too. I think the Brownies are going to be good....Tampa Bay is good for the Indians. They won behind 7 innings from CC Sabathia and a 7 run fifth inning from the offense, eventually winning 9-5. If the Indians could play Tampa Bay every night, they'd be great. Unfortunately, that isn't going to happen.

Some more stupid info...I'm simulating a game between the Yankees and Diamondbacks on my "High Heat 2003" game, and right now, it's 3-3 in the top of the 11th, two on, two out, and a full count on Matt Williams...who grounded out. Yeah, I'm dumb.

I know this entry's more scatterbrained then usual, but that's how I've been lately. Deal with it.
