MY LIFE - DECEMBER

Tomorrow is going to be an interesting day. Two things are supposed to happen. Number one, my mom and I are going to a court hearing at 10:15am concerning the events late Friday night involving my dad. This should be interesting since my dad has the idea that my mom has been sleeping with everyone in Medina County. We're wondering how he'll behave during the procedings more than what might actually happen.

I guess he's been calling people for the last two days from jail telling all these stories about what's been going on according to him. I think the most he's gotten is an "Are you serious?" kind of response since most people don't seem to believe him. He was telling one person about my mom's sexual exploitations and continues to be convinced that something's going on. From what I hear, he can't get a lawyer either after what he's accused his old lawyer of doing.

Kind of funny how wild accusations can leave you without anyone to turn to, isn't it?

The second thing that's supposed to happen tomorrow is my mom putting a bid on the condo out in North Royalton. She's hoping to get the asking price lowered a little bit so that we can move out and get the hell away from my dad. We're cautiously optimistic since we've been close a couple other times, only to come up empty in the end. We have our fingers crossed though.

If we do manage to get the bid accepted and do receive the financing necessary, we'll have to figure out what to do with the dog, Anubis, and one of the cats, Shadow. The condo doesn't allow dogs and we don't need Shadow having a bladder problem, ruining the new carpeting and tiling in the condo. The other two cats we have, the birds, the rat, and the hedgehog should be no problem at all, although the birds will have to learn to stay in their cage.

But that's what it amounts to right now. We need to get out of here because this is becoming too much. My dad is just too far gone to come back and I don't want to be around when he finally falls for good. I would rather just leave and try to go to living a normal life without all the distractions.

It took a couple weeks for it to happen, but it's finally feeling like winter out here. It isn't snowing, nor is it brutally cold, but it is back to normal after several weeks where the temperatures were way above normal. I won't complain about the warm weather, but it doesn't exactly give a good signal. By now we should have had a few really good snowfalls and some really cold weather. We've had two snowfalls with accumulation and nothing colder than around 25°. That's cold, but it isn't Ohio cold.

I kind of like the colder weather and the snow falling. I don't like driving in it, but I do like looking at it and watching snow fall. The cold weather gives you an excuse to wrap yourself up in blankets and just loaf around the house and the snow can, and always does at work, lead to snowball fights. Sure it's cold, but it's a fun kind of cold.

I can remember the last two years as we would leave work, someone would get the nerve to throw a snowball at someone else. After a few seconds, the game had escalated and everyone would be throwing snowballs left and right before we finally decided, it's cold, let's go home. That was fun. I remember one occasion when a co-worker brushed the snow off of her car and right at me. I retaliated and a war erupted for a few minutes. It's things like that that I find the most fun in.

Oh, and we're all going to die if it stays warm. Or something like that. I can never get these predictions down right.
