It's official. I'm sick and there's not much I can do about it right now. For the last four days I've been struggling with what appeared to be a mild cold. Well, yesterday and today it turned into the cold from hell, then it became an ear infection. I found that out at the doctor's office. Doctor asked me after looking in my left ear if it was bothering me. I said no, then she said "because it's looking pretty bad in there. You have an ear infection." She then gave me a bunch of samples even though I have prescription coverage. Zithromax and Duratuss. That's what I'm on, which puts the medication count at six now. Zithromax, Duratuss, Claritin, Dicyclomine, EC Naproxen, and Rhinocort.
The only reason I went to the doctor was because it was getting worse and I wanted to be sure that I wasn't moving towards bronchitus, which I went through last year towards the end of April. This whole thing started off as a sore throat, which really only meant that I couldn't talk very loud. Then on Tuesday, I started developing this sore in my mouth which made eating a bit painful. Wednesday, I began to get stuffed up, began coughing, and began sneezing my usual behemoth sneezes. Today, well, it was just really bad. I'm miserable right now. Oh Jennifer, where are you?
I missed school today and I might miss school tomorrow too. I really hate this thing.
I actually sat through an entire episode of "The X-Files" last weekend. Disregard the fact that it was because my sister wasn't home and I had to tape it for her, but I sat through it. I have to say, the ones that I have seen really haven't been that bad. I've actually found them interesting. Mostly because there's more humor in the show now, yes, but nevertheless, I was interested.
Now before I go any further with this, let's mention that my sister watches this show every week. She's taped every episode of it so far and could probably recite the storyline from day one to now if asked. I, on the other hand, didn't really get into the whole thing until about a few weeks ago when I actually watched an episode. The show does have some intriguing ideas from week to week, and David Duchovny is a very good actor with a great sense of delivery. I don't really know what it is though that's made me interested. I guess I'll never know. It is a very clever show. Too bad next season is going to be its last.
One more thing, there was a line in last week's episode that had me in stitches. Duchovny's character Mulder said it. Now, you'd have to understand the episode, so here's a summary. Mulder and Scully (Anderson) are undercover as a couple moving into a new neighborhood. Now for the line, that's all you really need to know. It comes right after they've settled into the house.
Scully is just about to go and do something when this comes out of his mouth: "Woman, get back in here and make me a sandwich." The way he said it was just absolutely hilarious to me. Then she throws the bread at his face, which only adds to the laughter. Anyone who saw it would have to agree, that was a funny scene.
We still can't get our scanner to work, which pisses me off because I want to scan some pictures up that I have and stick them on my site somehow. It's not that I have new pictures for anyone to see, it's just that I want to people to get an idea of much of a dork I was. Actually, I just like sharing things about my life, so this scanner would really be helpful if it would just work. I suppose I'll have to find my camera, buy a roll of film, and take pictures that way for now.
The whole things is screwy though. Scanner's plugged in, the port it's in, a Universal Serial Bus (USB port) is working, but there's no linking going on. The computer can't find the scanner for some damn reason, and it really doesn't make sense. You're supposed to just pop that sucker in and watch it work. It's even worse that the manual really doesn't tell you shit on the scanner anyhow. I guess I'm just slightly peeved over that one.
I'm having a slight problem finding the new CD from Too $hort called "Can't Stay Away." It was supposed to come out on February 23, but from what I can tell, no store has it, nor does any store seem to even advertise it anywhere. Unless it's a really good selling CD, there had to be a problem with the release of it. Not that I want to buy it, I just want to see what's on it and then consider buying it. Otherwise, there's nothing I'm really interested in.
C-Murder's album "Bossaline" came out, but it doesn't look like it's much different from his first one in terms of a lot of tracks (28 this time), and short songs (longest one was around 4:30 , m:s). So unless I hear that it's really good, I won't be buying that soon. There were a couple other CD's that I looked at as well, but like I said before. Nothing really interesting.
I feel absolutely terrible right now. I know I said this before, but I really do feel like shit right now. I want to get over this ear infection quickly before it affects me anymore. I bought an Oreo(R) Cookie Blizzard from Dairy Queen earlier tonight, but I really can't taste food right now so it's pointless to eat it. That's another thing that bugs me. I still can't taste any food. It's driving me crazy. I do feel bad overall though. Just want to go to sleep and not wake up for a few weeks right now.
I hate being sick.
