I had the day off of work today, and I was more than happy to sleep in. I hadn't slept in for more than two weeks and that's a very long time for someone like me who routinely sleeps in. Well, today I slept until about 3 in the afternoon. A rather large headache had something to do with that, but I was just not getting up anyway unless there was some special reason to. I finally did get up, showered, then kind of lounged around for a while before heading on out into the great outdoors.
Outside of just going to a couple of stores looking for some items, I really didn't do much or go anywhere special today. The only exciting thing that really happened was when it stormed around 5 when I was in Berea. Outside of that, nothing incredibly special happened today which was fine with me. I am ready to welcome a normal day anytime that I can simply because I have had too many days filled with drama.
A few more like this wouldn't be bad.
We have no cable in our house now. They finally figured out it was still on and that we could still watch the cable last night, shutting it off for the second time. So now we're forced to resort once again to video games and movies to occupy ourselves. Well, my sister anyway. She's usually the only one home during the day and is probably going to miss the cable more than any of us. I on the other hand, don't really care since I don't watch much tv anyway.
The only thing I'm going to miss, granted, is the series finale of Mystery Science Theater 3000, which is airing this Sunday at nine on The Sci-Fi Channel. There are about five episodes that I will have missed overall then, which doesn't please me, but that's the way life goes. I'm just happy that MST3K is going out on its own terms, for the most part. Otherwise, I don't really miss the tv at all.
In fact, the video games give me a chance to really drive someone crazy. I've been playing Super Mario World like mad, which has made more than a few people crazy. All the noises that game makes are enough to drive my mom crazy. It also doesn't hurt to be very good at the game while everyone else has trouble with it. I'm very reckless as it is in video games, which is why I can't always stand to watch someone play. Where someone else will walk slowly, I'll run. I'm just reckless. I'm also good at getting so many extra lives that game quits on me. That's annoying though.
The other way I drive people crazy is to watch episodes of MST3K that I have on tape. I have a ton too, so I won't be running out anytime soon either. Cable? Who needs the cable, especially out here where Cablevision is an absolute channel. Everyone else has 80 channels while we have 56. Cablevision screwed us and we aren't happy about it.
They were supposed to add 20 channels to the lineup about three years ago, but went against the contract with Brunswick. Now the city is suing Cablevision over a breach of contract, which Cablevision claims is wrong. Well, Cablevision is wrong in this case. Fuck them. I'm not paying $30 for 56 channels when others are paying the same for 80 and 90 channels. Fuck that.

Last Game
Cleveland, 2
Boston, 7
Summary
Boston avoided a sweep, beating Bartolo Colon and the Indians on a day when Colon just wasn't very sharp. Boston hit him for five runs in just around five innings as Colon had trouble throwing strikes. The Indians offense was held to two runs, but has still won seven out of nine games to turn around the second half of the season.
Game Notes
Boston is now 6-3 against the Indians this year, but only 3-3 at home against the Indians....Boston has won the season series three years in a row, but has lost both playoff series against the Indians, getting swept in 1995 and lost 3-1 last year....Colon had his first loss since the All-Star game and gave up as many runs in this game as he had in four previous starts.
