Entry 16

12-5-98

Ohhh boy. Well it has been awhile since my last confes...oh wait sorry. Its been awhile since I've written on this page. School and Legend of Zelda have been taking up what may have once existed as 'free time,' in fact I no longer believe in free time and am happy in the knowledge that it was a bedtime story told to me to get me to sleep at night. Sleep is also a bedtime story so it all worls out in the end.

Okay so what can I tell you? Well a lot has happened...I won my first radio contest last week. This made me very happy although it would have made me happier if Mark McGrath, lead singer of Sugar Ray, hadn't gotten food poisoning and postponed the show until the 17th but hey what is he supposed to do...food poisoning sucks and I hope he is okay now. anyway it will be cool when it happens. That is, coincidentally, the week that the Depeche Mode/Stabbing Westward show is happening. This will be a cool thing. My friend Jade from Seattle is coming down for the show and we are meeting my other friend Crissy in Phoenix prior to the show for food. It is going to rock. Not just the show mind you but the whole thing altogether. I like the notion of concerts being social events instead of things where you just go and listen to music. The music is great and I can't wait to see DM and of course see Stabbing again, but I think I am looking forward to hangning out with my friends more.

School is almost over!!!!!!!!!!! In fact with the exception of one psych class and Japanese, I am in the midst of Dead Week! Yippie. I can start trying to cram a bunch of Christmas spirit in really quick before the 25th. That is no small task. Often I feel the sort of culture shock that war veterans feel when they are shipped out of a warzone by helicopter and back into civilization. One minute they are fighting for their lives and the next they are having a Big Mac at McDonalds. That fucks with your mind but good and that is to a much, much lesser extent what happens as the winter semester draws to a close. Spring doesn't do that as much and I think it is because it is leading up to summer. Everything is bright and up beat and even though you want it to be over, it isn't the dreary grey drudge of winter. It is really tough to transition from school to Christmas in a week and a half. But such is life I suppose.

Oh and I am beign slightly successful with a girl right now, but I don't want to say much about it lest I jinx it and fuck the whole thing up. So that is that. Ethan is on his way over so now I must close for the evening. And on that brilliant segue, sayonnara.
