Dreams

Standing on hallowed ground,
She shakes with freedom yet to be found.
Lost in disillusionment of what exists,
So alone, it's life she resists.

Immersed with what she believes inside,
Cacoons her soul, and goes along for the ride.
Pained expectations and hurt safely tucked away,
She holds back dreams and counts another day.

Standing on hallowed ground,
A whisper comes to her of freedom to be found.
Unbelieving, she resists and is afraid,
To tread upon where her broken heart is laid.

And this whisper, this soul shining so bright,
Her wings find it hard to resist his light.
He gently takes her into his arm's safe haven,
Removes her cacoon and introduces her to heaven.

And glow she does in dreams come to life,
And from out of the wonder she knows no strife.
Safe in his arms she is free to dream,
Safe in his arms more than a dream it seems.

Never has she met such a wonderful soul,
Gentle in his protectiveness to keep her whole.
And when she shied away from revealing more,
He lovingly taught her how to soar.

Standing on hallowed ground,
Shaking from from the wonder she has found.
She looks to him with eyes full of more than hope,
Eyes alight with wonder beyond scope.

She lives her dreams and closes her eyes,
Safe in the beauty of who he is she flies.
Never has she felt so safe and secure,
Never have her dreams been so sure.

Softly she lays in his arms and knows contentment,
Lost in the wonder of his loving enchantment.
Never has she been so free,
Never has she been held so lovingly.
