The Pain of Sadness

There within me resides
A terrible sadness.
One that aches with each beat
Of unsought memory,
For each fraught moment
Of reality.
Ignored but never conquered,
Teasing at my sanity.

no
don't touch me
the pain too much to bear
no
don't see me
the sadness to intense

In the midst of a tenuous smile,
One moment rips my soul apart
Tears my heart to pieces.
One word... one sound
Teasing with elusive contentment
Shedding pain upon my loss.
One moment... one silent second
Encompassing in it's pain
Becomes companion to mine own.
Not always seeing the cause
Of the break in my fortitude,
But break it is
And there nonetheless.
Hope dawning fragile in her wake
Breaking to pieces upon residing.

no
don't touch me
the pain too much to bear
no
don't see me
the sadness to intense

I yearn not to break at a moment
To lose the unshed pain
For once in my entirety
Be free of the slavery of pain
Images of flying free into my own oblivion
Abound within my minds chaotic being
Chained no more to constant struggle
To justify my reason for being.

no
don't touch me
the pain too much to bear
no
don't see me
the sadness to intense

Yet I continue
Endless in this struggle,
Walking foward despite oblivion compounding.
Hope though broken, tattered in her being
Clinging to the sadness encased within.
One day I'll be free,
No longer trapped in such an existence.
The pain but a memory,
The sadness a silent compainion...

no
don't touch me
the pain too much to bear
no
don't see me
the sadness to intense

Screaming inside,
But never heard...
