Yes Ninjabread is a weird alias, no it's not my real name, no it's go tnothing to do with NINJA'S or BREAD ....... BUT it has EvErYtHiNgto do with a cat, a gingerbread house and one christmas eve long long ago.
Well I was 9 and it was Christmas eve. I have two sets of cousins (and Aunts and Uncles)
and they all live out of Melbourne in the country. This Christmas Eve my cousins who lived
about 2 horus drive away were coming for lunch. Since they lived on a farm and had
quite a few cats who lived around the place there were lots of kittens too.
Well on their way down to Melbourne they stopped in at the market to sell a
box of kittens then went on their way to my house. Upon arriving though there
was one kitten discovered still hiding in the boot or the car.. What to do?
It ended up coming inside and I really don't remember too much except it
was in our laundry and I was with my cousin, Lauren, who is about 1 year younger
than me. She said something about me having the kitten and me, who loves cats, was very happy
to accept the offer so somehow we ended up keeping the kitten.
There was
the search for names of course, my brother who is older than me wanted
to call it Tigger, the cat was a very fluffy long haired ginger. But it was my cat and I decided on
Gingerbread as a name. Quite appropriate I thought since it was a ginger coloured
cat and it was Christmas time. So Gingerbread became my cat.
But what does that have to do with Ninjabread? Well Gingerbread being a farm
cat and generally not very affectionate loved to run round outside, as well as inside.
On occassion when he was in a playful mood he would run up behind you and attack
you ankles. Thumpety, thumpety, thumpety behind you and turning round here comes
that cat! Well I would give him various nicknames like Anklebiter and White Elephant
but I also called him Ninjabread.
When I first started using BBS' I sometimes called myself Gingerbread or Ninjabread
and I decided Ninjabread was a more interesting alias and now that's what I'm called!
I hope you enjoyed the story and maybe you can now think of an interesting
alias to use online?
