LONG VERSION

I was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 22,1958.  And I have
lived in the suburbs of Philadelphia since age six.  I've been
married to Jay since 05/19/79 and have two wonderful, beautiful
daughters: Patricia (Patti - 1983) and Angela (Angel - 1981).
I come from a very close family and have two older brothers, one
older sister and one younger sister.

**UPDATE**

I became a grandmother on 09/17/02. Pat's son, Anthony Lee, was born
one month early. He was 4 lbs. 14 oz. and 18 inches long. Becoming
a grandmother was the best experience of my life. He has brought much
joy into our lives.

I am a registered nurse.  I returned to college at the age of 29,
originally to finish a Medical Secretarial degree I started in 1977,
seeking a change in careers. With one semester to go, I decided to
switch over to the nursing program. During my college years, I worked
at home.  I was self-employed: first as a Family Day Care Center
Operator, and then as a Word Processor and Transcriptionist for
various Insurance Companies.  I graduated from Bucks County
Community College with an Associate of Arts Degree in Nursing in
1992.  While at college, I became a member of the college's National
Honor Society for Two-Year Colleges, Phi Theta Kappa.  I was
elected as their Treasurer and served for one year in that position,
after which I was elected President.  I served for one year in that
position staying on at the college for one year following graduation.
As a member and officer, I gained a tremendous amount of valuable
experience.  It also afforded me the opportunity for travel - allowing
me to enjoy many seminars, conferences and conventions.  It also
involved a tremendous amount of volunteer work which has also benefited
me personally and professionally.

I have always had an interest in the field of Gerontology.
Immediately following graduation, as a Graduate Nurse, I was
hired as Evening Supervisor at a Skilled Nursing Facility for the
Elderly on a three-month probation period pending my nursing
registration after which I was accepted formally into the
position.  After working there for four years, I changed jobs
to work at a Home Health Care Agency as a visiting nurse/Case
Manager serving a five-county area. Due to many back problems
sustained in a car accident, I am not supposed to work full-time
anymore. After an 18-month lapse in employment, I returned to
work (August, '98) in a long-term care facility as a charge
nurse/team nurse taking care of the elderly and also held a
position as a pool nurse in another long-term care facility.
I left that position in January, 2001 and started with a staffing
agency and now work at various long-term facilities in the area.

My interests are varied... Both my daughters have played
basketball, so much of our time had been devoted to that.  We
enjoy college and women's professional basketball and attend
games when we can. I love my computer, all aspects of it, and
the internet.  I love to learn something new every day.  I also
enjoy target shooting, both pistols and rifles, and am quite
good at it.  A hobby my husband, Jay, and I enjoy together.
I recently started fishing with him.  I love to be on the water's
edge.  I'm afraid I'm not much good at fishing, though.

I used to play the piano, but have given my piano to my niece due to
lack of needed space in our house and her gaining interest in learning
how to play.

My musical interests include classic rock and roll (my favorite groups:
Led Zeppelin)and The Who, oldies (I especially like Dr. Hook),
classical rock (Renaissance & Annie Haslam and
Emerson, Lake and Palmer), classical, rhythm & blues, and jazz.

**UPDATE**

My husband, Jay, gave me an electric keyboard for my birthday in 2004 to
replace the piano that we had given to my niece years ago. I am trying to
learn how to play it with not much success yet! But I will keep trying!
Wish me luck! LOL...

I tend to get involved heavily in political issues. I am very
conservative politically and must say that I am not very happy
with the current state of affairs of our country's government
systems.  One of my conquests (as seen on my government page)
was to impeach President Clinton.  My passion for wanting to see
President Clinton impeached was way before it was a media headline
and prior to the "sex scandals". And my voice was heard at our
nation's capitol about my views on removing President Clinton
from office. Unfortunatley, I (and others) did not succeed. *sigh*...
(And I am sorry if that offended anyone - it was not my intention).
I am one to speak my mind and encourage others to be active in the
political arena by getting involved and letting their voices be
heard by their elected officials. Another conquest was to do my best
to see that John Kerry did not get elected president in 2004.

Another interest of mine is alternative health care.  I suffer
from Lupus, degenerative disk disease, fibromyalgia, arthritis,
with chronic fatigue and pain.  And I have been diagnosed with
permanent nerve damage at five locations in my spine. I am
always looking for other, more natural alternatives to help with
these conditions and improve my general health.

I enjoy traveling, although we don't get the opportunity to do
this much - something we strive to change.  My favorite trip
was to Hawaii.  We enjoyed five days on Oahu and five days on
Maui to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary.  It was a
wonderful experience! We went to Las Vegas in May, 2004 because I
wanted to ride in a gondola on our 25th Wedding Anniversary and Jay
did not wish to travel overseas at the time. He agreed to let me
travel to Italy with a friend of ours instead. I leave for Italy on
March 4th, 2005! I will be sure to give you all the details when I
get back! Italia Arrivo!! (Italy here I come! lol...)

I enjoy meeting new people, and continue to enjoy friends I've
made over the years, some as far back as grade school. We meet
at least four times a year with our high school friends as a
group.  My husband and I have been very fortunate to have
maintained these friendships over the years. I have also had the
opportunity to travel to Toronto (1998 & 1999) to meet some
of the people that I have met through chatting on the internet.
And I have met with a some others, locally, since then. It
has been a lot of fun! I also plan on attending and being a
bridesmaid in the wedding of two net friends (who met over the net)
who are engaged to be married. I will also be attending their
graduation from college in May, 2005. I went on a trip to Italy
in March, 2005. I was fortunate to have met a couple of my
net friends there, also. I saw quite a bit of northern Italy and
cannot wait until I can go back to see southern Italy.

I am also a dog lover. I can't see myself ever being without
one. We now have a black & white Springer Spaniel, Prince!
Prince was a neighbor's pet who used to spend more time here
in our yard with our other dog, Abby (rest her soul) than he
did in his own yard. So, we adopted Prince from our neighbors
as he was headed to the pound if they couldn't find him a home
before they had to move. He is bad, but oh, so cute! And is
spoiled rotten! ~smile~...
