19 August 2005 at Stadsparken, Södertälje

By a total luck, there was something going on in the town this evening, since I missed to check the correct dates (supposed to be the NEXT day, so)...anyways, it seemed like ABF was arranging a concert for local bands (and a few guests from another towns), 5 bands all in all...Since I don't know their REAL names (the bandnames, that is), I will just re-name them in the vein that they sounded or looked like...

Band 1 - Vince Neil look-a-like (the singer)...played some kind of sleazy rock'n'roll with an punky attitude...actually quite alright, although the damn guitars were mixed down pretty badly...

Band 2 - False-Punk...3 piece band, with a singer who screamed/slubbered out the lyrics...made me feel quite good about myself listening to them, realizing, that you don't really have to be great in singing or playing guitar, just as long as you have lot of guts and attitude that these kids had...really good actually...

Band 3 - Snowblack (or something like that)...this was the "big" one this evening (according to the audience)...local kids playing Death Metal...but, they we're more keen on tuning their guitars and adjusting the instruments all around the stage most of the time...Before and during numbers...*sigh*...but, when they played, it sounded alright...and all their songs had the words "Black", "Death", "Die" and similar in the titles...

ELLOQUENT - Girlband from Nynäshamn...4 girls that likes to rock out and this is the only band that I managed to get a somewhat decent setlist out of...(since they were the only ones who really TOLD the name of every song before they played it - but, my memory sucks, so)...anyways...great show, I got a little impressed by them...

1. Pretty Girl
2. Wet Fish
3. Freaky Friday-song - (the one where they play LIVE and Jaime plays lead backstage)
4. Zombie - (Cranberries cover)
5. Suicide PT. II - (AWESOME SONG, REALLY!!!)
6. The Goodbye-song

TORTOISE HEAD PLATOON (renamed: "ORANGE CLUB" for the evening)
LOCAL HEROES SINCE MID-90:ies...they have been playing their style of music for almost a decade at this point in life...and, here they were, as ORANGE CLUB...delivering some NEW songs along with a few OLDER classics...The music they play at this point is very thrashy noize rock...Early Hellacopters comes to my mind when I hear them...a REALLY GREAT KICK-ASS SHOW...they delivered and I can't wait to hear from them again...

STARLET SUICIDE

Here's the band I was supposed to go look at the previous day, but, I missread the dates...anyways, here I was, again...and, it didn't take long after I got down to the park when they started playing...their sound reminded me of Distillers...a very dirty rockband, with a female singer/guitarplayer...a 4 piece band...You could hear they've been playing for a while, since they were on the same page all the time...I got really impressed by their prescence...too bad most of the crowd sucked (I heard "Boo's" and other "remarks" towards the band)...They should've played the previous day instead...so, right after the show, I decided to bail the rest of the evening...boring crowd = sucky event...but, Starlet Suicide ROCKED!!!

BERGMAN ROCK

Me & a bunch of Idiots (Flippar, Timmy, Kanske, Rataxes, Bobby, Martin Kanin & a whole lot more)...

bob hund, but in English, and with totally different songs...first time in over 5 years that I finally get to see these kids on stage again...
While we we're waiting to get inside the amusementpark (where the concert was held), Thomas (the singer) was walking around outside and came over and said HI to us and talked a lil bit...that was cool...
The show itself was awesome, once they got started...
They rocked my world once again in their own usual way...
Very intense and very "personal"...Thomas made us feel like one of the band once again...which many bands fail to do, but, they manage to do it, time after time...

I even managed to win one of the setlists in a quickly thrown together popquiz about Bergman Rock, by the manager Marcus (since there were too many people wanting a setlist, but he only had a few)...I think I might've got the setlist that Mats Hellqvists (the Bass-player) used...I know it was on the floor, since it has a light footprint on...

bob hund finally made a comeback after 3 years of silence (not counting their Bergman Rock affair) and what a comeback...along with a few new songs and a bunch of oldies, they we're invited to open up the NEW Debaser...Debaser Medis at Stockholm...
The intensity was total, the crowd was jumping from the get-go and didn't stop until the last note was played...I was sweating as the frigging Niagra Falls...an awesome show with an awesome band with some awesome songs...
