Curried High Trip
Cowbell of Happiness
When Nanami's life seems to be in danger, she becomes extremely paranoid. When she consults Touga about the incidents she views to be as attempts on her life, she tells him "A flowerpot that nearly fell on me, some logs fell towards me, and someone tried to push me down some stairs. These attempts must be the result of someone who is jealous of my good looks, popularity and refinement."

When Touga shows a lack of concern, citing that she has been reading too many novels and he has no time for her silliness because he is busy with the student council, she is nearly in tears at his coldness. When she tells her henchmen about her troubles, they are not terribly concerned, but when a stray baseball hits her in the face, she accuses Utena of being the one trying to take her life.

But when they overhear Touga telling Anthy to go ahead and kill her, she believes her brother is the one making attempts on her life. When she confronts him, he is puzzled, and runs off before he can answer her. When Utena tells him why Nanami is so angry, he tells her that the garden is having a bug problem and Anthy is reluctant to kill the bugs. While Nanami runs away, a horse  escapes, nearly running her over.
She is rescued by a nearby student who bandages her injured hand with his handkerchief. A rumor begins to fly around the school that she was rescued by a prince. Taking it upon herself to find her rescuer, she scours the campus, followed by Miki and Utena who are intrigued by the story of her rescue. They are shocked to discover that her "prince" is a child in elementary school.
As they watch, Nanami asks the young boy to be her boyfriend. Miki and Utena are shocked, still discussing the events at lunch the following day. When Nanami seems to take the "boyfriend" act seriously in the beginning, everyone is puzzled, but when he becomes little more than a glorified messnger boy and lackey, Utena and Miki decide to take action. Mistsuru takes on three guys who are obsessed with Nanami, Utena is enraged on his behalf. "Why do you let her treat you like this?" she asks. Mitsuru tells her of a time when Nanami was rescued by her older brother when she was nearly run down by a bull. "I wanted to become a big brother just like him, but she didn't seem to remember me, so I will have to put her in
danger again." As Miki and Utena quickly realize that Mitsuru was the one who led Nanami to believe someone was attempting to kill her, Nanami listens to the convresation on some recording equipment that she has conjured up. As Nanami yells at him for his plotting making her call her older brother an idiot, a kangaroo breaks loose. As Mitsuru tries to take on the boxing kangaroo, Nanami
snatches him out of the way. You can't be my big brother, Mitsuru, but I do need people like you to work for me. I can't let you just die. Touga suddenly jumps onto the scene, knocking the kangaroo out in one punch. As she looks on in adoration at Touga, Nanami tells Mitsuru "Let's break up," "Maybe you can adopt me into your family," Mitsuru says brightly as they walk away.
